Un-F*cking-Believable
Edit - Equity says this won’t impact Broadway but will for other venues.
Adams' reckless statements reek of Trump/DeSantis: “Being healthy is not just about being physically healthy, but being economically healthy...I must move this city forward...Generals lead from the front. I was not elected to be fearful, but to be fearless.”
At least "Charlotte St. Martin, president of The Broadway League, said, 'Broadway theatres anticipate no change in our protocols based on this announcement.'”
Adams came out the gate saying stupid stuff, so this shouldn’t surprise any of us, but damn.

This is why we need to vote in primaries. Is anyone surprised?
I doubt anyone even loosely following his time in office thus far is “surprised” by this. But I am constantly shocked by how brazenly awful he is, and the condescension with which he chooses to voice it.

Two things are true about this:
1) Adams is a reckless politician who only seems to be caring about his rating and how the economy makes him look.
But also:
2) This would be happening regardless of who is mayor. Right or wrong, the whole world seems to be dropping all these mandates all of a sudden, so it was only a matter of time. Hopefully Broadway stays strong and defiant of this a little while longer, but I'm starting to think their policies won't last much longer than April 30th.

While I think a lot more of us probably voted more this election cycle, so the turnouts weren't quite as dismal as usual, it's just embarrassing that from the riches of primary candidates De Blasio's first time and with Adams, our fellow New Yorkers are so suckered into voting for these nudnicks. A lot of these developments are inevitable, but their approaches are just so awful. I mean from Adams hiring documented homophobes, to being influenced by sports bigwigs, it's embarrassing.
It's for the Yankees and Mets, mostly. But also for Kyrie

And traveling and touring performers. Actors Equity performers will still have to abide by Equity rules.

My issue with this is it should be all or nothing. If you're going to drop it, drop it for everyone. Don't only drop it for celebrities.
