Merle Dandridge Deserved A Nod!!!

I don't know how many people have seen Tarzan yet, but Merle Dandridge was absolutely amazing as Kala and gave a very heartfelt and emotional performance. She was completely robbed!!!

I totally agree, she should have had a nod. I saw Tarzan and thought the only quality performances were by Dandridge and Strickland.
I also feel bad for Tarzan, as a whole. People give it a bad wrap but, in all honesty its not that bad. It only gets a bad wrap because people associate Disney with only the best. This wasn't Disney's best but, it is one of Broadway's Best and I think it deserves more credit than what people give it.

I saw her as Joanne in Rent and loved her. She has such a strong voice!

Merle Dandridge wasn't that great- I don't think she's heartfelt at all.

I do think Shuler Hensley, Josh Strickland, and Jenn Gambetese deserve nominations- although Hensley was the only one who I say definately deserved the nom.

She was good, but not better than the 5 nominated ladies for featured actress...

I know that Tarzan isnt even close to being the best show on broadway but Merle is amazing in the show and completely puts her all in every night. The show did not deserve nominations in most of the categories (which is just what happened) but i would have been VERY pleased if she was nominated.

I thought the show missed the deadline and therefore was inelibible for any nominations this season...
Correct me if I'm wrong. But if I'm not, it's going to have to stay open for a good year to be considered next year!

The show made the deadline for the Tony Awards. It didn't make the cut for the Drama Desk Awards, and will be eligible for those next year.
