I'm always so confused when shows have just haters to the death, well before they've even opened.
Like it might be awesome! Or terrible! We don't know yet because we've only heard like 2 songs and 2 photos from a 2.5 hour musical!
Keep an open mind and root for the artists trying to create something new right now. Usually when I'm not super into the promo stuff from a new musical I just ignore it until the show opens, where I go and see it (or not) with as open a mind as I can. If it's still not for me, well, life goes on. It's not all about me.

Why must we continue to do this? "Promo" is intended to drum up enthusiasm for the show. For some, it's not doing that and it's valid to express that.

I’m just wandering if this is gonna be papered like Versailles was. It might not be worth buying the $25 tix. Beaches has more buzz than this

Yeah that’s fine. I’m talking the more obvious axe grinders. Surely you see that.

Axe to grind about what? Because they don't like Michael Arden? Lost Boys? Is this about Joel Schumacher? There's just a lot of projection about people not liking what's been put forward to call it "axe grinding". Like maybe if this thread was staying active between information being dropped and people just kept bitching about it, sure? But between the promo drops the thread drops off. People just don't seem to much care about this show.

Since when have you "been excited"? You've been negging this show since October, on the second page of this very thread, while also pushing rumors that Ali was dropping out and the show may not happen at all.

Now THIS is the way to do it --- TITANIQUE and SCHMIGADOON producers, take note!
PS. They've extended the offer thru Friday for anyone who can't make it there today.
PPS And I fully expect that someone is going to complain that the offer is only good for "in person" purchases!

When announced we hoped for the best. love the movie. Ali did have another project that threatened his connection to the show. He chose the show. It'll be fine. Disappointed. The music is just wrong and the visuals AI angsty at best. Still seeing it - but disappointed - that's okay.

Can I ask what the project would’ve been? Or is that strictly confidential? I mean I’ve been a fan of Ali ever since I saw him in Tommy and I’m excited to see him in this but I’m just curious

The "we" people are the kind of people who say sh*t like "We're pregnant". Nah, your wife is pregnant, you just exist. It's annoying but harmless, although bitching about a show for months yet announcing you are still going is...strange.
I am so excited about this show, they've been promoting it for months, they have this fantastic sale going on all week, and they are excellent on their socials. Time will tell but in a very weak year, I think this will be successful.

I swung by the box office a little before it closed and got a good orch seat for 3/31. Since they extended the offer until Friday, it’s a very good deal.

If you can respect all the other pronouns - "we" shouldn't be a problem.

Here's where I remember that I suggested that some enterprising college student might want to start a service where they go to the box office, for some specified price, and buy tickets on behalf of out-of-town ticket-buyers. When I suggested this, someone said I was reinventing Today Tix; but, no, that's not what they do at all. I'm looking for a service that will, for ten dollars or so, maybe even twenty, go to a box office and buy tickets on my behalf so that I can take advantage of various discounts, and avoid service fees.

It's not a problem if you identify as plural, meaning that you perceive more than one cognitive center within your body. That is a documented phenomenon, and I respect it, honestly.
Otherwise it's quite pretentious.
