Really appreciate the input regarding the seating question. I had looked at the seating chart and various “view from my seat” websites but nothing was explicitly clear. Getting recommendations from people who have actually been is the best source possible. Thanks!

I’m curious as to why a longer rehearsal period would be cause for concern in the creative output ability of the team? Wouldn’t it be more concerning if the cast only had 1 month of rehearsals vs 2?
I may be wrong but would think the more time the cast and crew has together to hammer things out and explore different artistic choices would only lead to a better end product?

And the money already spent on numerous expensive workshops to lure investors has at cost sky high. Thisteam works on glitz and behind it appears to be not much. Worry in the ranks. The Palace could indeed have another show replacement by spring..."
Agreed. An out of town tryout would have cost so much more money.

Absolutely. An out of town tryout would easily cost 8 figures for this kind of elaborate show.

I would agree but most of the issues seem to come down to the material. Which you can get through rehearsal and run throughs.

Yeesh. This is pretty rough. Where the other song they’ve released so far felt generic but moody, this one just feels… generic. It’s giving Dear Evan Hansen, which the movie decidedly does not.
How can we save Shoshana? That was ROUGH. Hopefully this is a curtain call song or something why is the character of David have to do with this ? Seems like this will be a long stretch from the movie. Le sigh

The song is a little generic. The biggest issue is the mixing of voices. It's just not a great presentation of the material out of context.

Not gonna lie, I liked it better than anything I've heard from Two Strangers and Queen of Versailles. This seems like a strong Best Score contender based on what I've heard given how weak this season is.

Also agree. That was super cheesy churchy. What is the TONE of this musical vs. the film?! Some good singers but this comes off as pedantic generic C rate "Evan Hansen" hapless angst. Where is THE LOST BOYS ??? yikes. "a benediction for our audience?" nope.
Let's hope the staging isn't this college showcase presentation. This season...

Agreed. But the bar is so low this season for original Broadway musicals - that's not saying much. I anticipate most of the this year's Tony nominations for musicals to be revival centric across the board.
That was the most excited my ears have been by hearing a new piece of Broadway music for the first time since I can't remember when. Y'all are ridiculous.

Based on talking to several Tony voters and nominations, they are much more pro QoV than what we’ve seen on this board. Kristin is a lock for leading actress, it will win Set and other design categories, and if Lost Boys is a dud, Versailles will win Best Musical

Or what we heard doesn't speak to us. That's not ridiculous. It's called different tastes.

Well the voters don't nominate anything. Just the very small pool of nominators (which usually numbers around 50 after folks inevitably recuse themselves during the season). So you having a convo with "several" of them (supposedly split between nominators and voters) doesn't really mean much in terms of eventual results. No closed musical has won the Best Musical award since Hallelujah Baby. If you think QoV is winning this year...sorry but there is a close to 0% chance of that happening. I think it can still be nominated for lead actress, scenic design, costume design, and maybe score simply due to lack of competition. But that's the end of the list and it isn't going to win any of those categories.
If Lost Boys is a dud, we still have Two Strangers and Titanique for Best Musical options. Both of which have already done better with critics and audiences than QoV. I think Versailles is firmly in last place among the eligible contenders and the one production I feel totally safe saying it won't be nominated in the top category.

Can I get some video with my "Video: THE LOST BOYS Cast, etc, etc?
This feels like they're going a bit for an Outsiders style p@nty remover ballad

I agree it gives Dear Evan Hanson vibes, a generic "we feel a lot of emotion about something" song.
It's here on Youtube, if you don't want to deal with BWW's ads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOX89G0axKw

The song sounds like worship music to me. Assuming it's end of act one lol

I had the same thought! Especially when it gets to the chorus, it's a dead ringer for a contemporary praise and worship song.
Arden sets it up as a benediction.
A benediction is a closing blessing, derived from Latin roots meaning "to speak well," delivered at the end of worship services to invoke divine grace, peace, and protection upon the congregation. It acts as a final, encouraging charge to believers.
