I'd love to see this run as long as Chicago, but not go through too much stunt casting. The show has so much appeal to it, that I honestly seeing it run at least 5 years, even more, but who knows? Just my opinion.

@plaza Uh, how about no? @ACL Oh please! Matthew James Thomas's voice is thinner than Hunter's.

Oh no. Definitely not Jackie Burns.

Yeah, there is absolutely no way Hunter could handle this score. Unless he did not sing it as MJT does with multiple instances of optioning up. Some people's voices just aren't strong enough to handle some scores, and that's okay.
I think that Pink is an inspired choice. Strong voice and great presence.

I think Adrienne Warren would make a fantastic Leading Player!

I think so too. I feel like I suggested her a few pages back. She's a very talented woman and she should be working non stop.

I saw this picture on Broadway.com today and when I saw the reflection, I did a double take because it almost reminded me of Naya Rivera...
Wonder how she'd be as the Leading Player...

Good thinking! I said a year or two ago that Naya Rivera would make a great summer Velma, a great place to dip her toe into the Broadway landscape. Maybe then leap into Leading Player!

Jennifer Holliday would have made a heck of a Leading Player

I could see Janelle Monae as an amazing leading player. She has the spunkiness and voice for the role. She has a theatre degree as well so her acting chops are probably pretty decent.

I'm obsessed with Janelle Monae, but I don't know if she would do the show soon. In September, she launches a US concert tour and will promoting her new album.

phan24 - Actually, I believe "Role" is the proper homonym when referring to a character in a play.

Has anyone ever mentioned Ariana DeBose as The Leading Player. She is a PHENOMENAL dancer and has quite a voice.
