A leaf from the corn stalk set piece in "Wicked." Funny story, actually.
Not quite the most precious, but definitely the only really tangible thing of Broadway that I possess. Unless you count the Spelling Bee audience member pin, or that disgusting juice that I got when I was eliminated.
"Oh and to Gingersnap, That Jacker is AWESOME! Hey,don't you own the Hugh Panaro site? I reconize your username. I'm on there too. *hangs head* but I haven't been on. I've been REALLY busy."
Yes, that's me...guilty as charged.
To Cape Twirl of Doom, WOW You have the COOLEST stuff! the pillow from the boat sound AWESOME! I wish I had one! Oh and what is a Side Show Jacket? Do you have a picture of it?
Thanks!
The jacket used to belong to Hugh while he was doing Side Show. I don't really have a good pic of it. You can kinda make out the name (in red) in my photo w/ Raúl Esparza:

I thought that was you. I have to go on soon. *goes to log on* Yep, I'm still on.
*jaw drops* That is such a COOL Jacket!!!!!!!! Hugh gave that to you? LUCKY!
I have a new item now that I am in love with! My uncle just gave me his Phantom of the Opera Leather Jacket! His friend who runs Broadway Theater in my town gave it to him a long time ago and now it's MINE! I read that it was only a cast gift but he has friends that were in the cast and he use to do Broadway casting so I have something cool.
I'll have to take a picture of me in it.

I could try to describe it's wonderfulness...but it would be easier to just post a link to see it.
It's been a 'work in progress' for over four years...

- ORIGINAL Sweeney Todd Playbill
- Bat Boy playbill signed by the composers and Devin May
- Original Poster when Rocky Horror was first on Broadway
- Original Poster from Original Little Shop Of Horrors
- My ticket to last years TONY awards
- My Sweeny Todd cast recording signed by Stephen Sondheim (and the rest of the cast)
To name a few...
A friend of mine who worked in theatre for nearly 40 years left me her collection of playbills when she passed away. They include:
-Opening night playbills from many of Sondheim's shows, including original COMPANY, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, FOLLIES and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE.
-Playbill from the original production of JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS at the Village Gate.
-Playbill from the original A DELICATE BALANCE, signed by Tandy, Cronan and Seldes.
-Playbill from the opening night of MAME.
-Playbill from MACK AND MABEL signed by Preston and Peters.
There were close to 500 playbills in the collection. I treasure them and think of my friend whenever I look at them.
I have a silver stein from Beauty & the Beast that was used in Gaston's song (in the bar). It's cool & it has tons of dents & stuff from all of the mug clinking in that number. I also have a top hat from Beauty and the Beast that was used in Be Our Guest.
My most precious Broadway "possession" requires an exorcist.
Actually, mine is from the first big-scale production I ever saw, which was in 1970 (when I was 7 years old). It's from the first national tour of "1776," which included George Hearn, Rex Everhart, Pamela Hall, Barbara Lang, Walter Charles and others...
My mom knew someone in the show, so we went backstage afterwards, and the entire cast gave me the signed prop Declaration of Independence used at that performance. Each of the actors had really signed it during the show, plus the ones who didn't sign it on stage added their names afterwards. They all came up to say hi to me and ask me how I liked the show. I remember I was shocked and in total awe of them.
That show and that prop made such a huge impression on me!
B12B- Great story! What a great first memory for you.
papacusco and morosco- VERY jealous! Great memorabilia!
purplvelvetshoe- Who all is on your bag?
My most prized piece of memorabilia would have to be the prop heart-shaped upholstered head board from the bed used by Alan Cumming and Nellie McKay in the revival of "The Threepenny Opera." It was also really an adventure getting it home! Pictures of it are in fan photos.
My other prized memorabilia would have to be all my pictures- me onstage at the Shubert, me with Michael John LaChiusa, Patti Lupone, Julianne Moore, LaChanze, Sutton Foster, etc.
A script of "The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia" signed by Edward Albee.
My signed program from the Boy From Oz Arena production...
Signed by several members of the cast, Kenny Ortega, Deborra-Lee Furness...and...BARBARA COOK! (completely by accident!)
My Into The Woods OBC playbill signed by Mr Sondheim.

On my bag, there is a whole lot of Wedding Singer, Wicked, RENT (OBC and Current'ish), Aida, Movin' Out, DRS, Drowsy and lots of other people from random shows that I love...
I've actually had actors from shows step out of the "stage door" line to stare at the bag for like ten minutes to see how many signatures they could point out. And then there was this one guy (a fan?) at the Wicked stage door who offered me money for it. I was like, "Uhh, no?".
But yes, I love it. It's been to NYC with me every trip for the past 4 years...I just became bored with collecting playbills.

My favorite possession is the Sweeney Todd Easter bonnet.
First is my program from "Matters of the Heart" when it was in Pittsburgh. I didn't get to meet Patti, but someone kindly took it back for me and got it signed. Her messages inside was so sweet. In addition I was having a really bad year, and that act of kindness on her part is something I'll never forget.
Second is my framed orignal Evita, Poster with the reflective silver on it back from 1979.
Third is a poster of Wicked I bought on a trip to NYC. I wasn't able to see Wicked, but I stopped at the Gershwin and bought this poster that had the original cast on it, plus a little green witch in the logo which denotes, "Orig. Broadway Cast."
