Beetlejuice has really been doing just ok since it came back. Its ticket prices are high enough and their theatre is big enough that it's often making $800k-$1 million, but its attendance numbers suck and it's taking less money than it was in the dead of winter in 2020.

In this remounting: it did very well in its first two weeks (>95% attendance). But, since then, it has not gone above 81% capacity and spent most of its time in the 60s and 70s.

Between Christmas 2019 and the shutdown, it always made above $1 Million and was above 95% capacity every week except the last week before the shutdown, when it was still at 90% capacity.

So, TL;DR I think it's likely the Marquis is also vacant by the end of Winter 2023.

Sutton Ross said: "They should have sent an email, Sutton was the sole reason I saw this show. She is a draw and the reason why many people attend this show."

Sutton was out the first time I saw the show. It was at the fourth preview and it was announced about a few minutes before the show started (there was not even a paper in our Playbills). I found out that Sutton was going to be out today because Kathy Voytko posted that she was on for Marian on instagram. I was surprised that you did not receive an email. When I was going to see Birthday Candles and Debra Messing was going to be out, I got a call and an email.

If I remember correctly, they didn't even allow refunds in June when Sutton had COVID again.

After seeing the show today I don’t think I would make an effort to come back and see it again just for Sutton. I really disliked the production. The direction especially felt very strange, and while I liked a few of the supporting characters, I didn’t like the leads at all. Maybe a last minute trip up to the city if there’s a day where prices drop (like today). But definitely not a special trip just for TMM.

Count me in as someone who had a grand time at this production. Laughed, cried, smiled ear to ear. I won't be going back, but happy I saw it!!

Who would have been you fantasy to take over from Hugh?

I would have loved to see Justin Timberlake

Didn't they try to get him? I'm pretty sure I saw Hugh talking about that somewhere.

Bizarre, but I guess Hugh's schedule allowed the extension.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

That and Back to the Future not starting performances till June leaving the Winter Garden empty in the Spring also likely gave the production some cushion to extend and allow for the theater to be turned around in time for Back to the Future.
