I really wanted to see it a second time.

That's a shame.
The Helen Hayes would be a good theatre for Hedwig though...
Or Andrew Jackson.
We really do need a new small Broadway theater.
It makes me sad that the only new play running on Broadway (and the only new play left from last season) will be Race. Now THAT'S tragedy.

We really do. Maybe once the Hilton implodes in on itself we can get a small theatre built in its place.
Nooo!! I can't make it to New York until spring 2011 and I was desperately hoping Next Fall would hold out until then...I had a feeling it would close well before that, though. Wish I could have seen it!
RACIST!!!!!
Haha, indeed. I don't think that joke has ever been more appropriate given the title. Although seeing as it's a Mamet play, it's more sexist than racist I suppose. :-P
Hm. Okay. I just bought a ticket for this Saturday. I've been wanting to see it again anyway.
Well, no shocker. Just got a seat on TDF for next Friday.
Dang I am going to 3 weeks and that was on our list! Oh well life goes but CRAP!!!
Jordan- my kids saw Andrew Jackson tonight and said it was really good. My daughter said the cast was really nice at the stage door.
Awh, ****. I was so hopening I could have a chance to see this show since it looks like it would be an enjoyable production. Alas, I'm unable to. Oh well, farewel1

Noooo! I was so upset to hear that Next Fall was closing. Such a brilliant new play. Sadly, not surprising it didn't bring in the tourists tho.
This comes as no surprise. The show never found an audience-it was playing to half empty houses for months.
It's just another example of how a new play, given no stars and despite positive reviews, will inevitably fail on Broadway. It's quite sad.
But also, I feel that the tickets were overpriced.
Munk, weren't the reviews mixed and luke warm? I don't recall reading any raves. And yes the tickets were overpriced.
I don't know, actually. You may be right. I remembered the reviews being pretty kind. Not raving raving raves, but generally nice and positive.
But even with raves from every major publication, this show still would have closed at a loss. Unless it starred Keanu Reeves and Jake Gyllenhaal, it was destined to flop.
This is not surprising news but it's definitely sad. Really sad.
I just bought a TDF ticket for the closing.

They should have put Hunter Foster and Jen Cody in the leads.
