I was curious because Wicked is coming to my town February-March. I've seen the show dozens of times, but bringing my husband who's a newbie. Was considering purchasing some really close seats ($$$) to make it extra special but to be frank, not impressed with Lissa enough to spend that kind of money on premium seats — but the timeframe is close enough that itmaybe someone else by then"
And how do you know you'll be impressed with whoever comes in?? Give people a chance. Goodness. And in person, not based on what you might have heard from a recording. ALSO I've heard the Elphaba standby is amazing, so either way, give them a chance.
Jordan Barrow had their final performance yesterday, anyone know who is replacing them?
ETA: Sorry, I originally thought Sharon Sachs also had their last performance this Sunday, but they don’t finish until December.

It hasn't been announced yet, but apparently someone who has played Boq before is coming back. Hmmm

Michael Wartella
Is there still an unwritten schedule for when the Elphaba standby is on during the week? I know there had been at one point.
Michael Wartella returned as Boq last night, and Michele Pawk will join the company as Madame Morrible on December 12.

Didnt Michelle Pawk have some severe vocal issues? Are they now resolved?’

Seems like it would be a great thing for Wicked - she’s a country star with a pop crossover hit (“The Middle&rdquo, so she has lots of fan already. Call the girl back, producers!"
Maren Morris sang For Good with Kristin Chenoweth recently and I’ve gotta say she sounds great!

I know Brittney doesn't leave for a couple of months, but I wonder who will come in to take over as Glinda.
I know she was attached to Once Upon a One More Time(that Britney Spears musical), but I would love to see Aisha Jackson as Glinda someday.
Last year I saw Marina Kondo go on as Anna in the Frozen tour and now that she’s available I would love to see her takeover for Glinda!
Talia Suskauer will depart the Broadway cast on March 5.

This makes me sad as she was probably one of the best Elphaba's I've seen, but she has been with the show for quite some time. Let the new leading cast predictions begin!

Did she ever indicate that she would consider coming back to the role, or is she like Alice Fearn who said she would not be returning to the role.

I absolutely adored Alice Fearn in the role. She would be a fantastic Elphaba on Broadway. I know it won’t happen though!
I don;t know if anyone saw, but some familiar names have joined the tour as emergency covers in Washington, and were on last night. This is from a post on Instagram:
Jennifer DiNoia as Elphaba
Allison Bailey as Glinda
Kathy Fitzgerald as Morrible
Jason Graae as The Wizard
as well as understudies on for Fiyero and Boq

I did see that! Jennifer DiNoia is a superhero. It's sad that productions have had to call in previous cast members but amazing that she actually was able to do that.

Allison Bailey will be standing by for Glinda on broadway for "a bit".
I wonder if Allie Trimm is taking the time off to get ready to take over the lead when Brittney leaves. hmmmmm

I think that would be...interesting. Wicked did so well with diversity in their cast, well, taking a step forward with it, so to go back to someone who is not a POC would be disappointing.

Adore this show to the moon and back but fully expect them to backslide in this regard, at least initially

Sorry, but it’s gross and racist to call someone getting cast in a role a “backslide” because of their skin color.

This is quite the overstatement. It's not gross or racist to express concern that a show that did a lot of publicity around having a diversity consultant come in and then hire a full-time lead as a POC. If indeed Allie does join the cast, which is well-earned for her, let's hope that both her standby replacement and Talia's replacement are diverse actors. It's no slight to Allie or her work to say the show is backsliding in it's commitment to diversity in it's staff and cast.

Thanks jmfinny! 100% correct.
Allie is fantastic, talented, and has absolutely 'earned' the role as much as anyone else. As is/has Alyssa Fox and many others.
Wicked needs to continue ensuring that people of color are well represented in all roles, leading, supporting, and ensemble.
Both things are true.
