And it's not just little girls. She has a huge older Gen Z and millenials fan base = working people with their own income. Yes, it'll sell out, especially during the spring break.
I mean, I agree with the power of Swift, but every film she has been in has flopped miserably. Tacking a producer title on ain’t going to be the cash grab you think it will when her fans wouldn’t even spend $11 to see AMSTERDAM with an already stacked cast.
This is random but does anyone know if this is the same Notebook musical Joy Lenz was working on about 15 years ago? I was a big One Tree Hill fan, and thus a fan of hers, and I remember she was working on this and it was aiming for broadway. From what I recall she wrote the music and lyrics, and maybe even starred in it?
I just hope that Telecharge is prepared for the high demand this show will receive if Taylor is truly attached as a producer! I cannot go through another ticketing disaster like what happened with the Eras Tour.
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

It’s not, Ingrid Michaelson is the composer/lyricist. If I recall correctly, this iteration started its life at Vassar College in 2019.

I believe they confirmed that it's the Schoenfeld. Purlie Victorious is going to the Music Box.

Taylor as a producer won’t mean much. Might give it some interest but she’s not appearing in it so why would there be a ticket frenzy akin to her tour? That makes zero sense. Were Cats movie tickets are to get…?

Amsterdam was DOA with or without Taylor Swift's involvement. David O. Russell's reputation took critical hits in the #MeToo era, and he would've needed to turn in an unimpeachably stellar film for people to look past his transphobia and misogyny. Plus Swift's cameo made its way online within days of the film's release.
Taylor's involvement definitely wasn't enough to buoy Cats, but again, the discourse was already insurmountably negative before its release.
Ingrid and Taylor have had a friendly professional relationship in the past (Not a Swiftie, but Ingrid's cover of Clean is gorgeous). Taylor's audience and Nicholas Sparks' audience have a lot of overlap. I think if she's able to take some time to do publicity and hype up Ingrid, it will have an impact. If she's going the passive, producer in name only route, then I doubt they'll see much of a boost.
TLDR: How can we speculate on potential Swift impact when she's never attached herself to a well received project before?
If Taylor Swift posts on instagram to her 270 million followers that she is producing a musical on Broadway and all her fans should go to it, I think surely it will impact the needle a little bit. Many of the other 'celebrity producers' of the past haven't been this kind of level. I don't know exactly what impact, but I would doubt it to be zero. I suspect though it still wouldn't be enough to make the show a hit on its own, unless she was in the show of course.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Maryann’s performance was so understated and beautiful, it’ll surely be hard to beat her.

I'm lost... at what point was Taylor Swift announced as a producer?
It wasn’t/hasn’t been announced that she’s a producer. On the first page of this thread Jordan Catalano said it was rumored she was.

If I recall, Mariah Carey was added as a producer of some like it hot within the month, if not the week, up to opening night.

The Notebook (non-musical film) is not without its fans,it grossed $118 million at the box office. Nicholas Sparks who wrote the book on which the film was based has quite a following. The chicago run of The Notebook musical last fall drew mostly positive reviews for the show and score. Public awareness, positive reviews seems to point to it being at least moderately successful. I repeat seems to point to it being at least moderately successful. Seems being the operative word because this being Broadway nothing is Guaranteed. But. I wish them success. The more successful shows on Broadway the better.

Would this actually have that kind of impact? It's hard to imagine that. The celebrity co-producer thing seems to be a vanity "name only" sort of thing? It's not like she's actually going to be in the show?

Those who are not Swifties most likely would not be attracted to this show or attend it.
It's not like the marquee will say 'Taylor Swift presents 'The notebook' LOL
I don't think most of her fandom are Broadway lovers tbh. I mean we had 'Cats; as an example and she even was part of it but we know how that turned out
