Interesting that Rachel McAdams roles keep popping into musicals, first Regina George, Allie from The Notebook and Irene Adler from Sherlock Holmes/Baker Street. Then there’s Claire from Tom Travellera Wife on the West End that could transfer.
Whoever plays Allie needs to be a strong performer.

The production at Chicago Shakes had Joy Woods in the role of Allie and she was FANTASTIC.

Would it? I know she has pretty rabid fans, but just by being a co-producer on the show wouldn’t guarantee that they would show up. I’d say it would be even less likely, because she wouldn’t be performing. Are Mariah Carey Fans flocking to Some Like it Hot?
The score and show were gorgeous in Chicago, I hope they really showcase it in the marketing, like do a pre release of the album prior to the broadway opening. Get people actively listening to the score, it’s a hit.

RIP to every other show's Tony chances this season.
Joy Woods was phenomenal and I'm PRAYING she's in the cast. I was also really struck by Jerome Harmann-Hardeman, the understudy who was on for Older Noah the night I saw it.
Ask anyone in Chicago, this is a show and a score that cannot get to Broadway fast enough.

That's a great way to describe those people, rabid. If she tells them to do something they do it so it would be cool if she was a producer, but the show doesn't need it. It's a strong, gorgeous, wonderful show that will do really well in New York.

So the Schoenfeld sits empty all Autumn because they saw how badly shows that opened last Fall struggled, & limped through the season. Four musicala still standing, & only one a runaway hit.
Forget Taylor Swift just being a producer...she might have to star in the frigging show to sell tickets.

I saw it in Chicago and it wasn’t bad but certainly needed a lot of work as the show was kind of muddled. 3 couples of side worn ages. The middle couple were good but none of them felt like real, actualized people. I see the praise for John C who was fine? He sang and acted fine but it’s a thankless role. The middle guy - Ryan V? - has a great song in act 2. I just hope they worked on the opening song too.

The new art looks great, and the Schoenfeld is a good house for this. I hope they tightened the show during its downtime; this was in the best shape of any Chicago preview show I’d seen in a while, but it could be something really special with some work. Very excited for this!

That's the real challenge with this. It can be compelling while also underwritten for each individual part. We'll see!

You all underestimate Taylor Swift fans. She could endorse a laxative line and little girls everywhere would have it sold out within 24 hours. Her name on this would be a huge deal for Broadway just in terms of new income.

Kurt Deutsch being one of the lead producers makes me think that the forthcoming cast album for this show will be released on his Ghostlight / Sh-K-Boom label.
