Because of the writers strike which will likely be expanded to an actors strike, it's not a given that anything is filming.
I'm not sure if TV actors will be able to commit to lead Broadway parts during the strike because of uncertainty about when it will end. But I wouldn't be shocked to see more one week stints of supporting roles, like Ellie Kemper joining 'Peter Pan Goes Wrong for a week.

Lolz. You joined today to tell me that? Cool story, bro. No one knows when it will end and they have to be ready to film so yeah..... not happening. Thanks so much, though

The single set made of what looks like wood and the projections always reminding us that they were real people really got me thinking Arden's main point was the fact that while we do use musicals to escape, some horrors are with us to this day. This kind of hate in a community is present since ever and sometimes, we can't win.
Yet, the show is very optimistic, especially because their leads are vivid characters that we just have to root for. Both Plat and Diamond are great in their roles, with Micaela being the MVP of the show. I think Ben is very good, but still retains a lot of manneirisms that could stay away, but what a vibratto, and he clearly loves this role. Diamond is heartbreaking on stage and has a magnificent voice.
Grayson is rivelting in the judgement scenes, and Nolan is a presence to fear. Both deserved spots at the Tonys more than some nominees.
The book is actually great at determine everything, and the score is glorious, one for the ages.
I won't be mad if this gets the Tony glorys, and I think Arden is the best nominee in that bunch, and I hope he gets the award."
Alex Joseph Grayson is riveting and needs to be in Dreamgirls revival when and if it happens. This dude is a star in the making. Just watch!

" Actually, I did not just join today, but had to create a new login due to technical issues. Nonetheless, you are very welcome.

Another day, another unhinged response to a totally innocuous comment from Sutton Ross.
The strike means there are going to be gaps in actors' schedules that a stint in a Bway show could well fill. I know nothing about Astin or his show or Parade here, but if hes got a month or two, and wanted to do it, I know Parade would jump at the chance, I doubt CBS could do much about it contractually, and I know I'd be there in a friggin heartbeat.
Has the website for Parade always had 'limited engagement must end' banner on it? I notice they've updated the awards banner but I can't remember if the end date had always been up or not.
I don’t recall seeing a closing date on the website but there’s never been an indication that the revival would extend beyond Aug. 6. Ben Platt sounded pretty adamant that Aug. 6 was his last day, and I doubt the producers believe the show would do nearly as well without him.
This creates an urgency for people who want to see it.

The website has always said "strictly limited engagement," and it doesn't say "must end," it says "final performance August 6," which may or may not be new, but I believe it's been there for some time.

These 2 days off have been clearly listed on Telecharge for months.
"
Just to backtrack a little, I remember at the time they had Ryan Vona listed to be performing those dates. I wonder what happened to make it swap to Max. (Not taking anything away from Max, I love him.)

I guess late to the party but so happy Parade won best revival. Very well deserved! And Arden direction too!!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I'm confused. Ben Platt and everything else regarding the run has said a strict "Must Close August 6th". Would he leave before then? I don't see an extension happening unless they go back on that.

Ben posted on Instagram earlier today that the show IS closing on August 6th. Seems like an extension isn't in the cards.
Having not even yet seen this revival of Parade, but having seen this most glorious Sweeney revival... any show winning over this production is a crime! Feh!!
LOL. I found the Sweeney revival to be trash, but even if you liked it, Parade's revival by all accounts took a show from the middle tier to the top one, did it at the perfect time in the zeitgeist, brought together a killer ensemble – the list goes on: it's everything a revival should aim to do.
Related to that point, I was surprised to see Ben's note about it actually closing August 6. I don't see why he would post that if it weren't true, but at the same time I don't see why they wouldn't try to get another month out of it. WOM is only building so I imagine worst they would do, even without Ben, is break even.

Not a crime at all! Parade was the far superior revival this season and the best directed one as well. Congrats to Arden!
