Yeah, its worth buying for the extra features so I think purchasing it is the best way to go.

FYI - PBS has a lot Broadway information currently on their website. Check it out. I thought it was very well put together.

Wicked is the very last thing shown on it. If you are a fan of Wicked, I would say buy the DVD because in the special features they have footage of the rehearsals and it shows a song that was cut out of the musical before it hit broadway.

"Making Great" or "Which Way to the Party" (which way to the next keg of Winkie beer?)

To the genius who changed these songs.... i am forever grateful!

re: PBS Broadway special

I think one of the most amazing things about this, is that they created materials for teaching the history in schools (lesson plans, tapes, etc...)
I went to the premiere and I was floored (and slightly sheepish) about not realizing how many people I recognized got their start on Broadway.

And to hear I think it was Michael Bennett say the word "sissies" was worth the viewing.
The interviews in between are priceless.

"Which way to the party." Yeah, I didn't like that song. It was like some kind of 80's breakdancing song. lol

re: PBS Broadway special

It loses something once it hits early 90's, except for the Jonathan Larson segment that almost made me shed a tear or two

I kinda agree, Spider, but you gotta love the clip of lea salonga's audition for Miss Saigon! The Jonathan Larson part is awesome!

re: PBS Broadway special

I thought this special was really great. I love the feature they had on Cameron Mackintosh musicals. Also, they clips they had for Wicked were spectacular, especially the one with Kristin sing "Popular" and dancing around he stage. What did everyone else think of it?
