I'm in the camp who thought it was a lot of fun. I like artsy, serious stuff, and I'm also down for a guilty pleasure movie musical.
Best wishes to the cast and crew - they're a really talented bunch.

I feel like come August, Broadway is going to feel so empty.
Has there ever been a season where so many close at one time? Or is this nothing unusual?

Good luck to the talented cast. This show was a failure in LYRICS - man, Bryan Adams can write a hook but those lyrics were dreadful. Ms. Banks deserved better than this for her Broadway debut.

Posted: 7/3/19 at 7:28pmThis cast was so strong for the show they were given. I enjoyed myself however, how could you not with this cast? Glad it had a nice run, but happy something new can head in there.

Well, it ran for over a year so there's nothing for anyone involved with it to be ashamed of. With the name recognition of the original property, this will probably tour and run in stock and community theaters for years. The lack of any Tony nominations was the clincher for this show so there's really no surprise this is happening.

Which is strange, because as a kid my favourite movie was Spirit, which Bryan did the songs for, and it rocks. Catchy, moves the plot along. Each song distinct. Not the genius of Hamilton, but superior to most of what I've heard on broadway lately. I was super excited to hear he was writing a bway score, and I am a fan of Pretty Woman. But this? Was just kinda bad. No idea where it went wrong.

Posted: 7/3/19 at 8:04pmNo surprise considering their grosses. Just adding it to the pile now. There's going to be a lot of empty theaters after August 18.

Prob one of the worst shows I’ve seen from direction to choreography to design to lyrics/music. It was just awful. Jerry Mitchell’s Pretty Woman sounded like it would be so much fun but oof.
I do feel bad for Hunt only getting 3 weeks.

Well, the investors are probably not so happy, but...

If it's losing money, why not just end it with Andy Karl and the other original cast?!

Yeah, Spirit was a pretty incredible movie. The music was stellar too. I would LOVE to see a War Horse-esque stage adaptation. I’m not too sure that it would translate well to the stage but I would still be 1st in like for tickets haha

Posted: 7/3/19 at 10:59pmI also enjoyed this show though the only number that was memorable to me was the opening Welcome to Hollywood song. Terrific cast I wish them all well. Lots of out of work actors from the Spring closings and now these Summer closings. I hope everyone lands somewhere great.

They couldn’t get the original stars to stay an extra few weeks to close it? Yeah, I know they may have other gigs lined up, but I’m surprised something couldn’t have been arranged.

Based on very little, I'm going to say that recent seasons have had more shows with predetermined closing dates and/or closing announcements were more spread out.
I think the plays (King Lear, Gary, Hillary and Clinton, Ferryman, Ink, probably Frankie and Johnny) are making this seem like more of a pile up too.
