Perfect Crime to start shows again

No article but a friend involved with the show says its set to reopen in the next month! Its the longest running off Broadway show in nyc.

Perfect Crime to start shows again

At first glance, this seems to make perfect sense: considering Perfect Crime has been scraping by with tiny audiences for a while now, it stands to reason that they wouldn't be daunted by the limited capacity the way other commercial theatres will be.

However, it becomes confusing when you consider that their audience consists almost entirely of tourists who go to TKTS, and find out about the show from a promoter there.

Amazing. I said I’d see anything that opens again but I guess this just proved me wrong.

Hasn't the world suffered enough?

DEAD. Lol. I legit snorted at this.

I miss theatre so much.

But not that much.

If they have to limit capacity won’t that drastically effect their standard audience size of 4 people?

Perfect Crime to start shows again

An absolutely dreadful production. The script is predictable, the set is cheesy, the direction is non-existent and Catherine Russell's acting varies drastically from performance to performance. (Her costumes consist of whatever she's wearing that day)

Is there *anything* positive about the production other than Catherine Russell having done it (literally) 12,000 times? (Though from what I understand that's not necessarily a good thing...)

Sorry, I can't say anything positive about the show. I did interviews with several cast members down through the years and saw the show each time. It's just a bad play from the get-go.

Catherine Russell and I get along fine. She also handled the box office for THE FANTASTICKS and when she saw I was bringing one of my grandchildren to the show, she'd upgrade their seats so they'd have a better view of the stage. However, she's incredibly inconsistent as an actor.

BTW; Each time I saw PERFECT CRIME, there was a respectable number of people in the audience.

Maybe THE FANTASTICKS can return? They often played to very small houses. The last time I saw the show, I went with a small group as they knew the actor playing Matt at the time. There was roughly 40 people there and after the show, they mentioned what a large, responsive audience they had.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I would not be surprised if the actual perfect crime was that this production was some sort of money laundering front.

That whole building is an eye sore since Snapple took off their advertisement. The theaters themselves aren’t great either. Very low and small.

I’d love to see The Fantasticks back Off-Broadway. I was in New York in 2005 and 2018 so I missed the original production and I missed the revival. But it seems wrong to bring it back just because it usually played to small houses.

I am waiting for a musical version of it .This would get me back to the theater.

What a shame that a beautiful little masterpiece like The Fantasticks has been lumped together (in any conceivable way, shape, or form) with Perfect Crime.

I’ve never heard about this show, but now I NEED to see it to find out what doing the same role 12,000 times does to a person.

It certainly makes sense that non-union shows can get away with reopening, however safe or unsafe that may be.

I think the below is hilarious. It's from the show's website. A show so bad that they need to offer some explanation for the plot holes.
