<<< Agreed. It was so nice to see Samuel Jackson, Star Jones (blech), Julianne Moore, etc etc just get to walk around the Belasco at opening night of JOE TURNER'S without being bothered. >>
Wicked... noticed that as well !!! I didnt get to see Star that night, but I wouldnt mess with Samuel L. Jackson either !! LOL
Not to threadjack your threadjacking, but really cant wait to see "Joe Turner....." again !
Finally got see N2N on Saturday night. All I can say is:
Wow. Beautiful.

No idea if this is common knowledge or anything, but at the ATP series tonight Michael Berry said he'll be going on as Dan on May 10th, both shows. Figured you guys might want to know.
I saw the show on Sunday night, thanks to TDF (Row D, Mezz - perfect seat for the show with a great view of the stage, and all three levels of the set for those curious). And dramamama611 said it perfectly above: "Wow. Beautiful."
The show is soooo much tighter since 2ST.
*spoiler just in case* While I do like Costco and its silliness, its removal was a great idea. It did disrupt the pacing; Here the first act was nicely paced, shifting into the reveal about Gabe perfectly. I even thought the slightly new act break (before Wish I Were Here) worked well. It had still be after Feeling Electric when I saw the show at 2ST (which was earlier in its run there). Wish I Were Here had some great staging and movement/cheorography. Feeling Electric had some very over the top staging I felt at 2ST (the song itself, while a great stand alone song, was a wise cut) that distracted from the subject matter. I really loved that I've Been is still with the show - it was a needed moment seeing Dan's true inner turmoil. *end spoiler just in case
As for the person asking about run time: I was on the street at 9:53 after the 7:30 pm show Sunday. And I'd lingered a bit filtering out of the mezz. The mezz was 100% full on Sunday night, which was nice to see.
I'm looking to see the show on the weekend of May 2nd. What's my best bet for cheap tickets? I have a discount code for $60 tickets. Anyone know if I can find a better deal? I'm really excited to see this show, I have a few songs from the CR on iTunes and they're great. Thanks!!

There are also $36.50 rear mezz seats which are supposed to be a really great view.
Yeah, I sat in H101 (the last row of the mezz) when I saw the show and the view was excellent. I didn't feel like I missed anything. They're great seats for a great price; I would recommend them to anyone.
I went back tonight... a few thoughts: - Cast seemed a bit tired and drained but they still gave their all; Tveit was definitely a few notches less energetic than I remembered from last week - Alice was BETTER than she was on opening night; she is just unbelievable - The sound did not carry very well at all to the rear orchestra - Spencer ripped my heart out during the latter half of the second act; he's gotten to be really fantastic in the role
Lin Manuel-Miranda was in the audience again tonight.
This was my second time seeing this show. I saw it early on in previews, and was a bit iffy about it. Tonight really put me over the edge and this has become a favorite for this year.
So I'm planning to see the show the week after the Tony's (That wednesday) Should i try to get rush tickets that morning.. (I am going to 9 to 5 at 2.. Or should I just spend the 60 bucks and be safe rather than sorry.. And ps.. Are there any awkward moments.. I'm going with my mom and I'd kinda like a heads up.. I can't imagine taking her to Spring Awakening.. i think she'd kill me! Thanks!

^I would NEVER EVER EVER see Spring Awakening with my parents, but I'd be totally fine taking them to this. Nothing sexual, except for a few one liner jokes, some references to pot, and decent amount of cursing, but nothing too painful. Updated On: 4/24/09 at 03:43 AM

Christina ~ The mom question has been answered. :)
As far as rushing vs. getting tickets in advance, it's kind of hard to say for sure. Depending on what happens at the Tonys, it could go from a show where you can show up maybe as late as 1 hour ahead of time to get a ticket to one with a much longer wait time. Ditto tickets and discount codes. It's just too hard to predict for sure. If you don't mind that you may have to be up and there very early (which since you have a matinee would make for a LOOOOOOOONG day), then wait. If that thought doesn't make you happy, get the tickets in advance.

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!
Thanks so much for your help!! I think I'm going to see it!! I'm very excited.. I think I'll just get tickets off tickemaster.. I'd hate to get all the way to New York and then not get tickets.. I was looking at ticket sales for last week and I was wondering why ticket sales were so low for Next to Normal?? Is it because it just opened.. It will go up when the Tonys are announced, right?? Thanks again! And I'm excited my mom and I can see the show together!

It opened last Wednesday, and given that there were TDF dates pulled as well as previously purchased TDF tickets recalled, I would guess that sales have picked up since the reviews came out. Hopefully with Tony nominations and a win or two, they will pick up even further.
