I'm crossing my fingers that they'll release a block for late may/june in TDF, I essentially got my membership for NtN...obsessed? Probably.
Absolutely out of control audience tonight. Louder than the first preview. Pretty full house. Orchestra was fill with the exception of about the last 5 rows on the house right side orchestra. However, there was plenty of paper and TDF there tonight- when I went to pick up my tickets around 3:30, the box office guy had just printed a stack of tickets that said "Comp" on them and they were sitting on his counter.
Anyway, not sure why, but the audience was REALLY into the show tonight. There was a VERY long applause break after I Am the One.
Alice, if it's possible, has gotten even better. She continues to add small nuances to her performance I pick up on each time I see the show. I really enjoyed Bobby Spencer this time, much more than I have in the past. He's really doing great work. Tveit is as chillingly fantastic as he has always been. I love that performance so much. The rest of the cast was, as always, wonderful.
Act 2 felt REALLY tight tonight, and flew by I didn't notice any missing dialogue or anything, though, so I just think it seemed to go by faster. One tiny change I noticed...in the scene in Act 2, Dan didn't wave his hands tonight when Alice is looking over at Gabe.
My only complaint about the show continues to be the stupid crib...I think it's cheesy, and wish they'd just get rid of it. It's visible for maybe 10 seconds, and most people don't even notice it. I just don't see the point of even lowering it.
Can't wait to go back...I make a new revelation each time.

I was at the show Friday 4/3 and I thought it was wonderful. It was the first time I saw any version of the show. I hope the show does well.

The crib has been a complaint since early in 2ST

Yeah, the crib is kind of ridiculous and unnecessary...I only noticed it in the second act, does it come down during act I? I saw it just as it was going up and was a little baffled why they thought it was needed.

no, its only the one seen in the second act when she listens to the music box

Ah ok, that makes it even more puzzling. I don't think it's unclear at all that Diana is remembering Gabe...
And since it doesn't appear before then or in any other context, it's not as if it's some important piece of subtext. It's obvious enough Diana is remembering Gabe at that point, without the giant anvil that is the crib to remind us.
I never noticed a crib when I saw it... where and when does it appear?
It's lowered at the top tier of the set at some point when Diana is remembering Gabe.
I can't remember when, is it during the music box scene with Dan or during the I DREAMED A DANCE scene? Or neither of those?
Ahh, that's why I didn't see it. I was in the front row, so I couldn't see much of anything on the top tier.

It's during the second act when she opens up the music box and listens to it before Dan tries to take it away from her
Of course....tdf and discount codes ALWAYS add dates: after I purchase tix elsewhere! When will I learn patience???? (OK...this time I DID use a discount code....but the tdf price would have been sweeter!)
Question for those that have gotten TDF tickets - where have your seats been? I'm thinking about rushing vs. TDF.
And silly me can't even remember the crib during the 2 Stage run! Guess it shows how effective it was for me :).
I don't understand the crib thing either, it seems awkward and unnecessary. I also don't understand why they still have a whole baby room set up for Gabe if their old house had burned down.
If Diana made another room for him in the new house, I feel like that would be mentioned and I also feel like it would be changed over the years as Gabe "grew" up. Maybe there's something I'm missing from it, but I found that a bit weird.

I think most of the TDF tickets have been mezz. I was in row E in of the Mezz Cent, and there were other TDFs around me.
Also, Jezi, there is no crib in the new house, she's having a memory, the crib is just a visual representation of that.
I can understand that much of it, but the Dr does say something along the lines of "isn't it time to clean out his room?" during the Hypnosis. So to me I thought that sounded more like she still has his room set up, and not just going through his things. I suppose he could just mean more metaphorically, but that's not how I understood it when I saw the show.

I always just thought it was Diana putting the pieces back together and the crib was one of them.
It gave me chills when I saw it at the first preview. I thought it was beautiful and creepy at the same time and totally fit the moment.

there's no way Dan would have allowed a room to be set up. There is no way there is an actual room.
The crib has been in and out of productions since Second Stage. They took it out for awhile in both the Arena and Second Stage runs and then put it back in.
I really love it, they should keep it.

its pointless as anyone who hasnt seen the show and isn't sitting in the mezz won't see it because they wont know to look up for it.
I saw it row L of the Orch for the first preview and then row O of the orch on Wednesday. Rows like N to the last row of the orchestra don't see the top tier but when I was in row L, I saw the crib. And noticed everyone in the rows in front of me visibly look up to see the crib.
You can see it from the orchestra, but not from all of the rows.
