Damn! Way too young!
I wasn't all that familiar with his work, but I was lucky enough to catch him onstage a few years ago in "The True" off-Broadway, which I guess was his final stage role? It was him onstage with the great Edie Falco and Michael McKean. The play was unextrordinary, I thought, and Scolari's role wasn't the most flashy. But he had a quiet groundedness to him that gave him a magnetic, imposing stage presence even up against Edie Falco, who's character was much more loud and active.
