Drive up demand, sell tickets in advance to make sure they've built up enough sales to make it through winter doldrums, then in January "due to unprecedented demand...." announce a new closing date"
Oof, really? You think they might wait until January - to announce an extension, or to release the block of tickets through February? I really hope they don’t wait that long to release the block.

Anyone know who the new Raoul will be, since John Riddle is returning to Titanique on Tuesday?

With regard to that awful ugly set and the comparative expenses - it may have traveled faster and so there would be no need for a jump set and advance crew as there was in the tour that closed in 2010.
Speaking of that tour - Tim Martin Gleason is back with the show as standby Phantom and went on yesterday!

That's likely because Jeremy Stolle is out on a personal performance tour with Elizabeth Welch throughout October.
A great friend of the show, Laird Mackintosh came back for a few performances this weekend as the Phantom

That's great news! He's really good, very much in the Michael Crawford vein.

On Telecharge it has changed from "The new block of tickets will be placed on sale shortly" to "Check back for tickets for the final performances". Could the block be dropping this week? The SUSPENSE
Also changed the wording to an emphatic "FINAL PERFORMANCE February 18, 2023!"

TELECHARGE THATS NOT HELPFUL IF YOU DON'T TELL US WHEN TICKETS GO ON SALE
hehe

I really think they are sticking to February 18. I bet CM would close it tomorrow and ALW already negotiated an extension to Feb. 18. CM will be there to start pulling down the drapes as the audience is leaving that night I am sure.

I think they might be on sale now. Whenever I go to Telecharge and click on Phantom I get an error. Something must be happening...unless it's a normal Telecharge glitch.

To answer my own question, it's Paul Adam Schaefer through the new year, except for a couple weeks around Thanksgiving.

Wow, good for Paul - he's been a swing and the marksman for many years now. Looks like I'll finally get to see him as Raoul in November.

Still no word yet on when February tickets will go on sale?

I can't help but wonder if Cameron Mackintosh is watching those consistent million-dollar grosses and it's making him reluctant to move "past the point of no return" by putting official closing date tickets on sale.
Update on Telecharge:
"Currently on sale to the public for performances through January 21, 2023. There is a special presale for performances January 23 - February 4, 2023. Tickets for those dates will go on sale to the public at 10am on November 7, 2022. The final performance is scheduled for February 18, 2023, and tickets for the final weeks will go on sale at a later date."
Grabbed tix for 1/26, but it wasn't clear that that was the actual Anniversary show....sigh.
labellaragazza1 said: "Who is the presale for?"
I think it was presale for fans who signed up for ticket notifications on POTO website via chat. I got a text message and a link.
