"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
I have a friend who texted me around 12:30 who won as well. She got a ticket in row BB, and I'm so insanely jealous. She was freaking out, to say the least. I can't wait to talk to her tomorrow so I can live through her...
the most incredible night i've had in a LONG TIME!! First i got to cover the red carpet for BWW so i got insanely amazing pictures of the cast, past and present. then we got to see the show and they let us take pictures during the show!! so i got AMAZING shots throughout the whole night so you all can see it and experience in it.
then, i got to cover the red carpet for the after party and afterwards mingled around and met all the cast and actors, and lots of other folks that showed up! i cant wait to share the photos i'll start a new thread tomorrow.
and all my photos would be posted by BWW t some point in the next few days i'm assuming.
p.s. just to give you an idea of how crazy the night was, i was sitting 5 seats over from Blake Lively and 3 seats over from Frenchie! lol. it was a really fun night.
It seems that the Rent lotto was rigged to a certain extent ... everyone who was filmed and interviewed while waiting for the lottery to take place won tickets. I was standing next to 4 people who were all filmed, and they all won, one after the other. When one of them came back with her tickets, she said that she was told that everyone who was filmed would be winning tickets. I spoke to another winner and he also said he was was filmed. After all the filmed people won, it was announced that another 15 pairs were made available for lottery.
"Well, yeah, it makes sense that Pab would have to be there and in good seats, since he was photographing the night!"
No, it doesn't make sense, because if he was covering the event for BWW, why would he need to enter the lottery? Wouldn't he have been given press passes to the show?
The other people I spoke to who were filmed and won had nothing to do with any kind of press coverage.

"And the reason why Pab had no idea he was going that night until the lotto announcement would be...............?"
That's where I'm confused. If he was covering the event for BWW, how could he have no idea he was going that night? BWW covers everything like this; I'm sure they didn't send him and say "enter the lottery and see if you can get in to the show". And if he didn't win the lottery, would he not have covered the event? Is he a BWW staffer? If so, why would he have to enter the lottery? There were tons of reporters and photographers there and they didn't enter the lottery to get in.
wv - that's not true. I was filmed and i DEFINITELY did not win lottery.

Maybe they filmed more people than won tickets, but I definitely saw 4 people who were filmed win the lottery, spoke to another who was filmed who won, and spoke to one of the winners who said she was told when she picked up her tickets either that everyone who was filmed would win tickets, or that everyone who won tickets was filmed (don't remember her exact words). So it all seemed a bit suspicious, especially with 3 people who were filmed having their names called right after each other and all filmed in the same order as their names were called.
hmm, thats a little ridiculous, and while it does upset me if thats true I honestly can't spend time thinking about it just because a) theres nothing really we can do about it and b) last night was such an incredible night i can't get upset over things like that, even if it meant i sat in rear mezz h
