We have orchestra tickets for the April 27 matinee. Got an email advertising a “Pineapple Room” add on package, $95 per person, which includes a charcuterie box, champagne, and dessert served in the pineapple room before the performance. My question is first, of course, whether it’s worth it, and second, whether we will be missing any of the preshow entertainment by being in this private room before the show. For this package, arrival time is 12:45, in general it’s 1:00.
Has anyone done this, assuming it’s offered in previews?
I believe it is not offered in previews, or at least it wasn't when we bought our May 5 tickets. The website said there would be entertainment in the separate room. I am also looking forward to finding out.
You'll get a ton of emails about it, all trying to get you to spend more $.
Sounded kind of ridiculous to me, but to each their own. There is pre-show "entertainment" for 75 minutes before curtain. It's mood setting, but totally skippable. (IMO)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
Pineapple Room does not start until after previews. I do not really think it's worth it either. They try to get you to come 60 minutes early for the pre show but I think I would have gotten just as much out of it coming 30 minutes early. The 60 minutes is mostly so they can sell you more drinks it feels like. If you were already planning on buying a bunch of food and drinks it may be worth it.

Sorry about that distinction - but the offer for the food/drink packages will still be offered.

I asked two different staff members about the Pineapple Room last Saturday (4/13) and neither knew where it was going to be. There is a blocked-off passage in one of the stairwells. Maybe it's there?
I have front row mezzanine tickets to an early June evening performance of "Cabaret.". I have no interest in the 75 minute early arrival, purchasing the Pineapple Room upgrade at $95, or anything other than seeing the show.
Will I be able to arrive 15 minutes before the 8pm start of the show and expect to get seated before it begins?
From the posts in this thread, sounds like I should be able to skip the pre-show stuff, but, just wanted to know if anyone did skip it and got seated ok 15 minutes before the 8pm start.

Yes, you can arrive/attend just like you would any other show.
The pineapple room is pretty much where the mezzanine bar was located when I saw Funny Girl in the same theater last year. They changed the color of the lights and decor to make it look like a pineapple room.
