Post-Show Dining

I’ve made reservations for most of my meals for my short Jan 4 - 7 trip. My friend is joining me 4 - 6 but I’ll be on my own for most of the 6th until I fly home on the 7th.

I’d love some input on the reservation I’ve made for myself after the 7;00 p.m.The Lifespan of a Fact on Sunday the 6th. Due to cold weather, I was looking for something good but also close to Studio 54. I figured that after I stage door (I believe most of the cast doesn’t come out so shouldn’t take long) I’d be ready to eat by no later than 9:15 if not earlier. I made my reservation at Da Tammaso around the corner from Studio 54. I’ve never eaten there. Is it any good?

I’ve been trying to branch out beyond my favorites plus on a Sunday night many of my favorites will either be closed or about to close by time the play lets out, further than I’m willing to travel, or both.

I’ve already made some reservations for my friend and It’s basically her first adult trip to NYC so I gave her some options and she chose so it’s:

Friday night - pre-theater - Blue Fin (good, if overpriced, food and they do a good of getting you in and out before a show)

Saturday Lunch - Rock Center Café (it’s all about that view)

Saturday night - Sardi’s (a must for me every trip)

Sunday breakfast - Junior’s

So If Da Tammaso isn’t a place you’d recommend, what would you recommend?

(I tried Victor’s between parts 1 & 2 of Angels in America last trip and while it was good, I don’t feel a need to return yet. I also ate at Becco last trip and thought it was basically just okay, but I mainly only went because I already had reservations even though I wasn’t that hungry plus they sat me in the upstairs un-air-conditioned atrium during the June heatwave so not an enjoyable experience. They also close at 10;00 anyway so not an option.)

It also might be helpful to know that I start to get sad as my NYC trip comes to an end so by then bright-and-cheery places wear on me. I’m willing to spend $ to $$$,

I'm partial to Spoonfed on 51st Street. It's owned by a former wardrobe person and was helped along in the construction phase by stagehands helping out a friend. And the food is fantastic.

I’m leaning toward Ringside.

If you're still open to suggestions, take a look at Taboon, 10th Ave at 52nd St. We thought it was great.

I did 54 Below tonight after TLoF. Overall, I had a great time. Thanks for the recommendation. I’d gladly go again. It ended my night on a positive note. Will Roland was in attendance and sat not far from me.
