Prelim Artwork for Disney's ALADDIN (Pre-Broadway)

I know it's preliminary, but I cannot wait to see what they do for the title font/design.

The artwork is fine. The logo/font is too plain. It's not magical enough.

The logo could easily change before the Broadway debut, I like the artwork with the lamp with the cloth like desert and the silhouette of the genie.

I love the lamp. I also like how the desert is almost a fabric. Agrahbah(sp?) gleaming in the background is cool too. But the title font needs work, it's boring.

For a PRELIMINARY design, I think it's fine and a good start. Many of the factors will definitely change to spice it up by the time this show comes to Broadway.

Uh, it's a bit... serious/unrepresentative of what the material actually *is*. It's a musical comedy. That looks like the cover of a romance novel.

I dunno--it's not too diff from the pre-release Disney one which I loved (especially as it matched up with their pre-release Mermaid and Beauty ones.) Am less keen on the cartoony ones--but if this show is similar to the regional ones, they do play up the comedy "Bob Hope road movie meets Arabian Nights" element even more so, it's true.

They may as well at least use the logo font--which is pretty iconic for those of us who grew up looking at the posers and VHS cover art...
