$20 a ticket for the final BWAY performance of RENT.
is this true around your areas or is my movie theater scamming me?
That's the case with the theatres in NYC, at least.
I got my ticket already. $20.00.
It's true in FL as well. Not sure I feel like shelling out $20 for a movie ticket to see RENT, really.
Well, it IS the entire show. With extras and stuff.
People paid 25 bucks to see Dreamgirls 2 weeks early...
I think that it might be the same price for the show at every theater. I've checked 3 theaters that are in like a 50 mile radious that are showing it, and all the tickets are 20 bucks.
I just got my ticket in PA and it was also 20 dollars!!!
I paid $5 extra for SNL best of Jimmy Fallon at the local video store, and when he orderd in the copy for the store, he orded ion minre. So, I got mine a week early!
:)
Only cost me $5 extra.

Mine is $20 as well. Think of it as a movie theater version of the lotto? And the fact that you're getting to see the final performance.
Do you guys know if they're releasing it on DVD after?
Where is the movie playing in NYC?
If they announce it now nobody is gonna shell out 20 bucks to see it in theaters.
Nevermind, I found the link

Mine is $20 too.
(in Nova Scotia, Canada)
I'm really looking forward to this.
is RENT even worth $20.00 ???
what a ripoff...
"is RENT even worth $20.00 ??? what a ripoff..."
Obviously not, since YOU don't think so. Have you notified the producers yet so they can cancel the the whole thing?
Yep...$20 here in PA with a $2.50 processing fee. I just bought my ticket a few minutes ago. Honestly, I expected to pay more. I'm sure it will be well worth it. I'm looking forward to it.
It doesn't surprise me since it is a limited engagement, and it isn't a regular movie. They do it all the time for special events. I think to see the quarter finals of DCI, it was $18.
well if you live in new york movie tickets cost 12 bucks anyway
personally, i think they're expectations for the amount of people wanting to see this are too high. That...or they know not that many people are going to see it so they're trying to make up for it with ticket cost.
I mean...the Rent movie wasn't that commercially successful and something tells me (as the public will see it) the "second rent movie" won't have many people rushing to see it.
The ticket price is either a smart thing or a really stupid thing...we'll see. lol.
They'd be crazy to not release it on DVD since it's already filmed. I even bet they'll release Legally Blonde on DVD after the bway show closes.
I bet it won't be released until AFTER the tour.
