Just trying to be helpful.
Still can't get over how much the beautiful Jessica Lange looks like elderly Big Edie in the previews.
Already set my DVR. :)
To those watching the actual first showing: I hope everyone is planning to wear their GREY GARDENS t-shirts! This is like the Super Bowl for Ediegeeks!
(Glad to hear it, TS3!)
I'm praying that this will be released to DVD. I'm sure it will. HBO is pretty good about that. But I don't have HBO and I will die if I don't see it. Die.
No dying allowed! Seizures are okay though.
It's irritating that you have to be a HBO subscriber in order to see this. It feels like extortion.
I'm with you, Tom's Cat. I'll have to wait for DVD, too.
It'll be the same movie then, though, so no worries.
My DVR is set! Can not wait!
Myself and some friends are having a screening. Everyone is required to concoct some form of head dress. Instead of caviar we are serving sushi, and a "Grey Gardini" martini. Of course there will be "quarts and quarts of ice cream" for dessert. :) I am so excited for this film...us EdieGeeks are in heaven. :)
Looking forward to watching it tomorrow.
I really want to see the screening but won't be able to...people in Oklahoma City don't believe in HBO. Haha...but not haha
I had to leave my house, unexpectedly, for a funeral, so now I am in a hotel room in North Jersey...with a giant flat-screen TV and HBO.
Just ran across this article about Edie's living relatives and how much they love the new movie. I find it interesting, though, how they feel that the Maysles Brothers film was exploitative yet they are making money from the sale of books about Edie and something called the "Grey Gardens Collection" of jewelry and other "Edie-like" things. Hmmm.

Another "fun" article on how to get yourself ready for the 8:00 PM showing on HBO.

As you know, miss p.... I subscribe to HBO just to see this show tonight!
Can't wait, people! soo excited!

I had the amazing opportunity to see the premiere of this on Tuesday at the Ziegfeld.
I wept almost the entire movie. It was incredibly moving, haunting, funny, and amazingly well acted.
Everyone should try to see this film...it explores the Edies in a way never seen before.
I wish I had HBO, but I'll have to wait until the dvd comes out and rent it.
Same here.
I used to have HBO, but it's since been taken away by Comcast.
I have the original documentary, though, so I can still keep in the spirit of the Beales!

Is there another showing tonight after 8?

Judas, if you go to HBO's website you will find the complete schedule. They are airing it a lot for a few days. I think they may even be repeating it right after. Also, for those without HBO I am positive HBO will be releasing this film with TONS of extras. Without a doubt.
Does anyone know if it will online? Like on hbo.com?
Nope. Since its on a premium/pay channel... it won't be available to view online for free until after it runs its course on HBO. By then, the film will be available officially on DVD.
Now, as for unofficial online sites and downloads goes...
Yeah, I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been said. I'm PUMPED! =)
Im wondering if Jerry or cousin Lois make an appearance in the film....
No Jerry. D:
I'm not sure who cousin Lois is.
