While Corden is a fine pick, someone suggested an Amy Schumer/Laura Benanti duo on another thread which I think would be hysterical.

Fey was asked to host last year, but declined. Given that she’ll be rather busy during awards season promoting her own show, I can’t imagine she would accept this year.

think about the audience Fey can bring in though......the tonys could use that!

other women i could see host are a combo of:

Amy schumer, Jane Krakowski, Sara Barellis, Audra Mcdonald

if we were so lucky it would be Bette Midler!

I really hope they reach out to Schumer. I think she'd rock it, and bring some much needed energy to the show. Especially since this year the awards are going to be pretty dull.

He also just throws in there that Springsteen will receive a special Tony Award. I wonder if that's just an assumption or if he's heard something.

I can already imagine how mainstream this year's Tonys could get with Bruce Springsteen, Escape to Margaritaville, Frozen, Harry Potter, Mean Girls, SpongeBob SquarePants, etc.

I mean if it's female host with musical inclination you want, get Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel duo to present (who I strongly assume will at the very least present the Frozen performance).

Bette Midler would be brilliant but she'd make the show 6 hours long ("well you see they call this hosting, but hosting is a very interesting word but I feel like I'm being hosted up here..." and we'd all be better for it.

I also think a Sara Bareilles hosted Tonys could be super fun.

If there was any year to go back to Hugh Jackman, it'd be this year. Could you imagine how great the opening would be if Pasek & Paul reworked the lyrics to The Greatest Show??

Her show opens tonight.... so I imagine she is now open for the hosting gig. And guess who is at the mean girls opening? None other than Jane Krakowski. CBS!! Make it happen!
