Romeo and Juliet starts previews tomorrow night at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Who here is going? I am looking forward to hearing about not only the show itself, but about the newly renovate Richard Rodgers Theatre!
I'd love to go. But $100 to sit in the last row of the balcony?
HELL to the no.
^ Woha! That is insane. I did not know they were charging that much. I paid less to see Kinky Boots. And I paid full price.
Not surprisingly the show is on TDF for scattered performances over the next few weeks.

I just can't decide if I'll be crazy bored with this or actually into it. I mean, it's a play we all know, etc. So I don't know. I'm curious to see the renovation though.
There are discount tix available. Just looked. Some 67.00 seats. Those are probably back balcony.
I'm seeing it tomorrow. There are better discounts. Check the Playbill club.
I checked for discounts yesterday and found none. Maybe they released the codes today?
My two theater buddies declined to go, so I may pass on this. But if early reports are glowing, I'll grab a TDF ticket for myself.

I've never been to the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Does anyone know if front row, far left or right are too close? How high is the stage?

It's just been renovated, plus I think it depends on the design.

I just got tickets for Wednesday night on TDF. Not sure what to expect. This could be really good, or a total disaster. Set in modern times with a black and a white family. Either way I get to look at Orlando Bloom for a few hours.
Saturday morning TDF tickets were still available for a few dates over the next week.
^^^ Saturday morning? I didn't see any weekend tickets on TDF at all.

The royalties are really high for this script.
Mac -- I think the poster meant that On Saturday morning there were tdf tickets available during the week. (not that there were Sat tix.
I need to know if Orlando has a nude scene before I buy I ticket.
You folks convinced me. Just bought a ticket for ugh 9/11 matinee on TDF for $43 with fees.
By the way, on the website, a flash is stating there are $20 tickets for students and educators available.

I will be there tonight and post 'my thoughts when I get home.
Bloom does, indeed, have a nude scene, but not during the bedroom escape. Rather, this addition to the staging gives very new meaning to Juliet's "Oh, happy dagger! Here is thy sheath!"

The TDF seats are only $39.00.
PM me you'd like to join me.

I got a student ticket for $22 at 1:30 this afternoon. If you have an ID, they are also selling these in advance. I'm rear orchestra, but I don't mind it much in this theatre. The raked seating is very nice.
With David Leveaux directing, how good could it be?
Remember his Fiddler on the Roof?
How do you ruin Fiddler on the roof?
You let David Leveaux direct it.
Will Romeo and Juliet look like the Cherry Orchard?
Bet it will. Anatevka looked like the Cherry Orchard in Mr
Leveaux horrible staging.
I will pass on this unless i get a free ticket.
