FYI, Kathryn Allison will be Sarah through Thursday only. Not sure if Britney Coleman or Paige Faure will be Sarah on the weekends.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Company didn't really have a major COVID outbreak like most shows did back December. Hopefully this doesn't cause a chain reaction with numerous cast members out. Guess this locks in Allison as Sarah all week and Britney Coleman as Susan.

Saw the show last for my third time. All three women who were on were AMAZING. Kathryn Allison really make Sarah her own and her chemistry with Sieber was lovely. Britney Coleman was BEYOND sublime. Her priest was every bit as funny. Simard really made her own meal out of Joanne.
I think all three shining is a testament to how much this cast continues to work thru this show every night. It feels more like seeing a play over and over again. So many moments seem deeper and cleaner and clearer every time I go back.
There's discount codes out there and I'm sure many people are staying away until Patti returns so if you have a free night I really think this is the time to revisit the show if you're in town.

Perhaps this could be attributed to the rise of the new "stealth" Omicron subvariant, which accounted for 8% of COVID cases last week; that percentage seems to double every week. That and the fact this cast was spared a major outbreak of the original Omicron strain.
We will see what happens with the other Broadway shows in the days and weeks to come. From what I hear, cases are still expected to decline through the spring and summer, but at a slower pace because of "stealth" Omicron. There is no case plateau / surge on the horizon as of right now.

I saw Simard this evening via lottery and I thought she did a great job in an otherwise unenviable position. The audience was clearly rooting for her and they pretty much ate everything up. She was gangbusters in the beginning and then it sagged a bit in the middle (she was playing her lines a little too small) before she blew the roof off “Ladies Who Lunch”. I’ll admit, it was odd seeing her in the “Little Things” scene watching her watch someone else in her regular role.
If I had to liken her performance to anything, it gave me STRONG Megan Mullally/“Karen Walker” energy, especially as she played with her sexuality more than LuPone does.
As this was my fourth time, I did notice a few things were “off”. First was Bobby Conte’s “Another Hundred People”, which seemed vocally all over the place - I like his voice and that song, but he couldn’t pick a key to save his life tonight. The other off moment was that the rain once again didnt work during the end of “Marry Me A Little” and I could tell Katrina looked visibly frustrated when the rain didn’t come, but kept on going. The show is still in great shape though and I’ll keep going and going.

I felt the same way about Conte's performance --- it was like he was making up the melody as he went along! The rain has just recently been cut from the show on a permanent basis.

What was the reason for cutting the rain?

Oh wow that makes me sad.
"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
Tonight was my first time seeing this production and I loved it! Some notes based on other posts here:
-The cast was uniformly wonderful, and I would never have known which actors were understudies had I not looked at the program insert.
-Simard channeled some of Patti’s vocal mannerisms, but otherwise made the role her own- she genuinely seemed like an UES socialite type. I don’t know if this was the direction, Patti, or Simard, but I picked up on subtext that Joanne was basically an older version of Bobbie, had she gotten married young.
-Conte had no pitch issues other than going very slightly sharp on some sustained notes. I thought he sounded great.
-There was no rain, but I found the fog to be quite effective.
-Lenk’s singing was much stronger than I expected. She’s not a “beltress” but has an excellent command of her instrument, and her voice is extremely expressive. I also found her presence to be quite warm at times. My only qualm is that as a 32-year-old, I didn’t buy her as being of my age bracket/generation (having nothing to do with appearance).

I was there as well. I thought Jennifer was superb. The moment I found out she was doing this I got excited. She is definitely a Joanne. She nailed it.
I am really going to miss the rain. I had the pleasure of being covered in it when I sat in the front row. It was one of the most beautiful experiences.

As far as “Another Hundred People” I feel the staging for it is too hectic and busy, and that doesn’t help Conte at all. It upstages him. I’m sure that it’s doing him no favors as he is trying to find a way to sustain the song vocally. I think it’s one of the few missteps in this production.
