Ms. Duncan will assume the role of Madame du Maurier in February when Carolee Carmello leaves fir Tuck Everlasting. It's not a role that I'd automatically see Sandy in, but I'm THRILLED she's coming back to Broadway!

One day this will be a great trivia question.
I found this clip of Sandy Duncan. She begins at 3:38 or so.

In one of the interviews I read she was joking about asking Kelsey for her old dressing room, which he is in now

I was thinking she can move in when he leaves - but it seems she is just hear for a short run and is leaving the same time Kelsey does.

She was just joking. I highly doubt she will take Kelsey's dressing room. And by the way, if she played Peter Pan why didn't she get the star dressing room years ago? Did that go to Mr. Darling/Captain Hook? BTW, Kelsey has set up his dressing room very nicely as like a captain's lair. He had it painted to match his Hook costume.

Could be that it WAS the "star" dressing room back then. In one of Tony Yazbeck's interviews he was talking about how nice Matthew Morrison's dressing room was, in particular the bathroom. Apparently when Nathan Lane was using that dressing room during the Addams Family he had the bathroom overhauled with new fixtures, etc. I guess it's possible that these dressing rooms undergo renovations and improvements throughout the years and then actors have different preferences when they choose the one they want.

I believe that dressing room used to have a bathtub in it that was installed by Elizabeth Taylor during Private Lives. Or maybe that was at the Martin Beck?

Possibly. Good point.

The most interesting thing about the announcement was the shes there through March 27th the day after Grammer leaves. I expect either a closing notice next month for the 27th or an announcement of a brand new cast, as Yasbeck was also originally annouced as a limited run.

I don't think Finding Neverland will close at the end of March. I do agree that there may be a whole new cast though (except Laura Michelle Kelly who reupped her contract).

Her Roxie is something I will never forget. I hope we see her in a role more deserving of her talents soon.

She was also the best PETER PAN I have ever seen. You really believed she was a boy --she acted the part so well. There was nothing at all "feminine" about her portrayal. I almost wish she would give that role one more try as I would love to see her PETER PAN again. I know, she is probably way too old now, but I can dream! It was not, to my knowledge, video taped for the Lincoln Center Theater on tape archive, which is a real shame.
She's only a few years older than Cathy Rigby. She could still do it.

I agree with you about her stint in Chicago. I've seen a number of actresses play Roxie (Ann Reinking, Marilu Henner, Melora Hardin, Charlotte D'Amboise, to name a few) and there was just something that she brought to the role that I had not seen any others bring (great as some of them were).
I haven't seen Finding Neverland yet (not consciously avoiding it, just hasn't been a high priority), but the chance to see Sandy Duncan onstage again might be the kick in the pants I need to finally pull the trigger on it.
Yikes. That sucks. Hope everything's okay with her personally, but it sounds messy.
It sounded like she wasn't good in the role.
Ouch! Telling from her son's post, something really must happened behind the scenes. I wish her all the best.

^The post being referenced above me, if anyone is curious. Sounds spicy, but I truly wish Sandy the best.

Based on the tweet it just seems like she was being asked to do exactly what Carolee did and she wanted to create her own character. That's not so bad. It's just unfortunate.
