No real changes, just tweaks here and there. There's a song not heard on the CD, as well.
very good interview. can't wait for Mermaid to come to broadway. It's nice to see what is happening frequently at Disney Theatrical
What a tool.
So, has "Temper, Temper" been cut? I really hope it's still in the show!
Its an interesting interview. Unfortunantly, he still doesn't give us specific information about Mary Poppins (I don't care about Mermaid"). I guess we will have to wait until October 14th (I'll be at the first preview)for any sort of real info.
i have to agree with you, Munk. it was like listening to this dillusional wife talk about why it's so good her husband beats her every night.
"no no...reviews mean nothing"
I hope they cut Feed The Birds. Children should not be taught to support an idle begger woman. Poppins should know that moochers like that should be avoided.
"Feed the Birds" is the best MARY POPPINS song, and my absolute favorite in the movie.
Let's hope that the Broadway Bird Lady doesn't butcher it like the London one did.
The Broadway Bird Lady is Cass Morgan...and I'm sure she'll be fabulous!

I don't know if you saw the show or not Munk but the woman (who's name escapes me right now) was amazing live. She brought tears to my eyes and my fathers, who never cries at theaterical productions. I can only hope that the Broadway performer brings as much heart and soul to the song.
I did not see the show.
The movie's "Feed the Birds" is gorgeously sung.
On the London cast recording, it sounds like Mrs. Paroo singing the song. Too warm, too granny-ish.

I still don't get why Disney Theatricals is so opposed to bringing Hunchback to Broadway. He seemed to just shut the topic down without question...but I've heard its an amazing production, why not bring it to Broadway?

Do tell me you're not serious. That's not what the song is really about. It's about that doing a simple act of kindness takes very little (tuppence). It's the most beautiful song in the score, IMO.
Also, it seems "Temper, Temper" has NOT been cut. I take it this is a reference to that: "There's a number that's like kind of right out of The Nutcracker, when the toy box comes to life, which I also have in "Toy Story."
Wonder how this show will do over here. I'm excited for it and glad it's kept the spirit of the books to separate it from the film version.

that article was very informational
i very much enjoyed reading it :)
I thought it was a great interview. I found it fascinating.
Edward Albee doing a version of Winnie the Pooh. Good god I'd give an arm and a leg to see that!
"The Bear" or "Who is Winnie?"
i can just see it now: the Owl throws a tea party and everyone ends up sh*tfaced.

LOL! Keep them coming AmericanRight. Some people here don't have a sense of humor and take everything so seriously.
no plans to bring hunchback to broadway? ok its official, this guy is on crack
no words can discribe how PISSED I AM about him not bringing Hunchback to broadway
AmericaRight is wrong again! Thanks for the laugh, though.
"Feed the Birds" was Walt Disney's personal, all-time favorite song written for any of his films or animated shorts. He said so in several interviews.

I vaguely recall an interview with the Sherman brothers in which one of them said that every time they visited Mr. Disney in his office he'd say "play it" and they knew exactly what he wanted to hear.
Gypsy, I, too, was moved to tears by the song as it was sung in the show. Having the Bird Woman sing part of it made the song even more poignant to me. I thought Julia Sutton did an excellent job.

I actually prefer it just sung by Mary. Although, having the Bird Woman sing it too makes sense for the stage. I miss the swelling chorus included in the song (in the film version).
