I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
"Every day has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." - Lin-Manuel Miranda
"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
The original is one of the best logos of all time. Marketing for this revival is boring and bland and says nothing about the show. I will say that the scrawled "Carrie" by itself, surrounded by black space, is creepier and more effective than when it is used with the one picture of Molly Ranson that we've been looking at for a year now.
I agree! I am not a fan of the one with Molly in it AT ALL! If it does eventually move to broadway, i really hope they pump some money into the design!
Ive been looking around online and watching the videos posted on the MCC site and it looks like the music from the 2009 reading is pretty much intact. The book however has been heavily overhauled.
I will post tomorrow night! Maybe at intermission, haha.
I want this to be good so badly. I'm hoping that it works.
Anyone hear what songs for sure have been cut? I've heard Out for Blood, Don't Waste the Moonlight, and Wotta Night are gone completely and In has been heavily rewritten. Anything else?
I trust Stafford 100 percent so im positive he will do a great job.
Also just a little think Fameboy about your playbill link. Carrie never played in London, it played in Stratford Upon Avon (sorry just so many say it played London and it never did, i wish it did)
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
I don't think this show will be Broadway bound, I haven't seen it yet, but the show doesn't feel like a Broadway show, but could have a decent run off Broadway and there is no shame in that.
Well the first performance is sold out, at least. (Was, rather. A few spare tickets [good seats actually!] seem to be popping up at the last minute).
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
