Thank you, Mark_E!

I was curious as to whether they had a standby for Deloris or not.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Debbie Kurup is understudy Deloris- she is the former star of Rent, Chicago and Fame amongst many other things, and will cover superbly, I have no doubt.

Uktheatrekid you might get lucky and get a single Day seat, We got 5 at around 4 in the afternoon so you never know. If not they might do you an offer at the theatre, just go in and say whats the cheapest you can do for a poor student :P. Works for me quite alot haha.

OK so the reviews are out and they are hugely disappointing.
But can I just say, as one who was a bit of a nay sayer against this show at the beginning, please GO see it without hesitation, honestly.
It is great fun, pretty fab to look at and is a divine pleasure on the ears.
It isn't 100% fabulous and it may not be what you expect but you will either really have a great night or a truly fantastic time- it wont disappoint you!

It simply isn't as much fun as being on a bus with three poofs in the Aussie outback!
'Hairspray' reeks of higher production qualities.

I'm going again on Monday or Tuesday, whichever night I dont go i will be seeing 'Priscilla'!

Almost agree with Mama above, except I would say the show is 100% fabulous!

I echo what Mama said,'as one who was a bit of a nay sayer against this show at the beginning, please GO see it without hesitation, honestly.'

I'm just back from a trip to the smoke and I managed to snag a ticket up in the gods for Sister Act's opening night. I'd definitely recommend this show: it's great fun, Patina Miller is a real find and the score is divine - I'm still humming 'Take Me To Heaven' after only one listen. Loved the title song too, had me a bit choked up at one point. I'll definitely see this again and will try for day tickets if they continue to offer them. Such a shame the reviews weren't kinder.

It was fun star spotting on the night. Only managed to get one autograph, but luckily it was Alan Menken's, just before he was whisked away to the aftershow party. Also shook Bill Kenwright's hand (but as an Everton fan I had to commiserate with him on the FA Cup result)!

A few pics from last night:

My heart still belongs to Priscilla though - saw it again on Monday night and can't wait to go again in a few weeks. Also looking forward to seeing how their performance at West End Live goes down. Does anyone know what number they're doing... ?
Seen some shows in my time....
