Is there any chance of the current London production getting another shot at New York City? I have a niece and nephew who I think would love it and while I'm a good Uncle, taking them to London might be a little much.
ALW probably wants to, but it will be a while since the London production is specifically built for their theatre and looks more technical than something like HERE LIES LOVE.
We’ve seen theatres get gutted for productions with increasing frequency, but I don’t think the demand for a large scale STARLIGHT revival is there in NYC. He may fare better with a tour, but even that seems like more of a reach.
Could be quit the event for The Armory, though they tend to go more artsy.

Pierre Audi ain’t touching this with a ten foot pole.

I mean, understandable so.
Would be a good get for The Shed at Hudson Yards, once "Luna Luna" clears out.
I have no inside information but if they are looking to set up in New York I expect they’re looking at unconventional spaces.

Starlight was never a great show, more a novelty item, so a revival in NYC might be a bad investment.
Starlight is more family show and I can see it being a hit for those who love skating and trains. I first watched a shortened version of it in Vegas when I was a kid and was awed by it.
I do think it would fare batter in a theater specifically made for it (look at Bochum, Germany.) I just think it would be so cool to sit in a swivel seat during a musical! lol.
Watched the Royal Variety this week and the Starlight Express performance was pretty lousy.

Damrosch Park in a tent a la the Big Apple Circus would be ideal but would anyone really go? Seems like people who know Starlight would be aware of all the weird changes they’ve made and wouldn’t want to be let down by seeing this production.

The clip from Royal Variety performance does not justify a $250-350 ticket for each member of the family. Taking children will cost a bundle, not sure there is an audience to sustain this long enough to cover the substantial investment.
