Okay! I just got home and because I love you all, I'm wearily typing out my review!
Understudies: Briana Carlson Goodman was on as Chrissy and Michael James Scott was on as Hud. Gavin and Will were both on. Yay!
The crowd was awesome tonight. Lots of laughter, the clap alongs and cheering. Very energized.
So, first off, front row? Holy loudness. You can feel the drums in your chest. Awesome. Anyway, sadly, my mom did not get picked as Berger's mom. I did.
You read that right. Me. ME!! Happy Freaking Birthday to me!!!! OMG I almost died. And damn if he didn't spend a long time kissing me! Head, cheek, neck, chest, down my arm, playing with my hair, "Turn around and say hi mom!" Let me tell you, I give props to the actors. Because when I turned around, that's a lot of people. Scary. My mom, was sitting next to me dying. She was loving every minute of it!!! As did I. I was shaky for half the first act.
But don't feel bad for my mom! She got some Will lovin' later on. In the form of him poking her with his (cold LOL) feet and then getting a kiss on the head.
I am definitely missing Theo. The principal/John Wilkes Booth character are just kind of lacking something without him.
Briana wasn't too bad as Chrissy. She was cute. Nothing overly special.
I wasn't really feeling Michael as Hud either. He seemed to lack the underlying anger that Darius puts out. He has a great voice though.
Sasha sang the HELL out of "Let the Sunshine In" in the end. OMG she gave me chills.
Gavin and Will were amazing. That's all I can really say about them. And seeing them both that close? **dies**
During "Electric Blues" Jackie Burns came and sat in my lap. "Are you Berger's mom? Oh thank you for him! He's so sexy and sweet and amazing. Though you look kind of young. That must have been awkward. But thank you!" Again, my mom is in the next seat DYING.
After the show, Gavin and Will has some sort of appointment and couldn't stay to sign or take pictures. Normally, I'd be upset, but I was still on a high with everything else LOL It also looked like they had some company with them. No biggie. Next time! But everyone else stayed for pictures and signatures. I just need Gavin, Will and Darius on my window card now.
Other notes: Jason Mraz was at the show! He walked out the stage door first and I was like OMG! Jason Mraz! But he just sort of walked by. Man is he a cutie.
Walking back to the parking garage, the always pleasant Constantine Maroulis walked by us. And man did he look pissed off at something. Heh.
So that's my summary for the night! Sorry if it's short and stuff, but I'm tired!
"And I'm a grown up....I don't go on vacations....I go to Broadway." - dramamama611
"Even I think that's hot, and I'm a straight guy. If I ever become gay he is the reason." - Drunk Chita Rivera on Gavin Creel
"Leia947 is my theatre mamma, and I love her for it." - AndAllThatJazz22
I'm officially jealous you got to see Michael's Hud. I went to the softball game and figured there must have been a rehearsal going on that kept most of the cast away.
I feel the same way about Josh (Theo's u/s, temp replacement, whateves), but I'm also giving him the benefit of the doubt because he's the only actor that got me to care about Boq. It's almost as if he hasn't fleshed out his roles in the show as much as everyone else has.
I'm going to try lottoing with my friends from back home this weekend. I'll be the one on crutches
whattttttt a birthday! glad you had fun! and about Josh in for Theo...i think Theo is a better Principal but Josh was really funny as Margaret's Husband.
odd fact: i bought j-mraz's cd today? lol weird coincidence.

Leia-- sounds like a blast! Where were your seats? Center?
Did we ever hear if Bryce was out of the show on Wednesday?? Anyone? Sounds like a baby to me!

Leia, that sounds like you had a BLAST!!! I'm glad you had such a great time!!! I'm so happy for you, I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading your review.
"There's nothing good on. The media hates Christmas. The media loves vampires, though. Maybe they will show a Twilight Christmas." -Danmeg's 10 year old son.
Was also at the show last night, nothing really to add to Leia's review, although I loved Michael's Hud overall. Was in standing room and then was able to move down to an orchestra seat for the second act. The chair next to me empty, so I was hoping an actor would come and sit next to me during Electric Blues, and sure enough, Caissie did, and proceeded to have a conversation with me for the majority of the song, so that was cute. She also remembered me later when I went up to dance onstage.
Bryce wasn't out on Wednesday, his wife hasn't given birth, and is due at the end of the month.
Gavin and Will left quickly last night because they were getting portraits unveiled at Tony di Napoli's, apparently.
And I'm really happy I bought a ticket to the benefit! Can't wait to see who the special guests are.
EDIT: oh, and yay for Hair recouping!! Updated On: 8/7/09 at 10:06 AM
Viola, did you see the really awkward person getting molested by Will in the purple dress? That would have been me LMAO and vioia is right. Forgot to mention that Bryce was still in and fun and adorable as usual. Gavin mentioned something about a bobble-head last night on Twitter. Must be one of those big head pictures with the small body? Dramamama, our seats were 107 and 108 in row A. I think I was in 108.
Again, thank you all for the Bday wishes and kind words. It was wonderful day over all

Michael is on as Hud too. According to Gavin's FB, he is nursing a cold.
And side note: Jason Mraz was wearing the exact same outfit on the today show this morning. Tee hee. But did anyone else catch his "let the sunshine in" reference? It made me smile knowing he saw the show the night before and it obviously resonated with him.
Illness hit Hair. In a show like this, with all the physical contact, when one gets sick, many get sick! They'd better be better by Tuesday!
