From her website:

also be a few new songs added to the show! Tickets

Not very happy about that... Got a hotel room, bringing the kids. Had no idea she would leave before Philly..... Was the only reason we were going there, we live 15 min from NYC!
Oh well...

Posted: 1/20/06 at 6:13pmKen, I guess all you can really do is just think of it as a lesson learned to check more thoroughly in the future on departure dates and such... it does suck though, and I'm sorry. But everything happens for a reason and, if it's any consolation, I'm sure you and kids will still enjoy it a lot!

That's very exciting, although doubtful that I'll get to go!
Oh well! Yay for Steph.

Ken-
No worries. IF it's true that Julia Murney is taking over as Elphaba, you can rest easy. Though two completely different women, both are EXCELLENT performers and kind people.

I think I might be able to go to that.
And Ken, rest easy - if Julia Murney IS taking over, you won't be disappointed.

And now she's going to be there on the 19th as well!!
If I had waited a bit longer I may have arranged my trip a little bit differently. Oh well.... I can't wait! June can't come soon enough, I could really use the vacation :)

By the way, Julia WAS excellent as Elphaba..... Still like to see Steph in the role, though. Maybe Broadway?
Looking forward to seeing Steph on June 26th! I think that night is sold out....

"Stephanie J. Block will throw a "Block Party" on June 26th and 27th ($35). " The star of The Boy From Oz, Wicked, and the upcoming Pirate Queen brings her dazzling concert to Birdland for the third time. In addition to singing standards, Stephanie will perform a rarely heard ballad cut from Wicked, swinging duets with musical director/performer Billy Stritch and a medley of '60s songs."
First of all, I think it's hilarious that she's throwing a "BLOCK PARTY"... that's a term that people on her message boards have been using for a while! HA HA
AND I THINK WE'LL BE HEARING "MAKING GOOD!"... though the ballad part of the description is throwing me off. Was "MAKING GOOD" a ballad?
