Plenty of people were expressing excitement over Mills in the Hadestown casting thread. But, ultimately, of course more people are going to be excited over a new production than the latest replacement in a long running show.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
It was announced 3 or 4 days ago, and posted in one of the Hadestown threads. People ARE excited about it, you're just late.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

IMO the words Icon and Legend should be stricken from the English language. Stephanie Mills was in two Broadway shows (one ran 80 performances) in her teens, and has not been on Broadway since. How does that make her a Broadway icon? I have nothing against Mills...I saw her in The Wiz in 1975 and she was very good, but a Broadway icon?

I agree those terms are overused, but sometimes its about quality and not quantity.
If Jennifer Holliday had never set foot on a stage again after Dreamgirls she would still be an icon and a legend.

There is no comparison between Holliday’s truly legendary performance and that of Mills. Again IMO.
