Stupid Rent Question (sorry)

I was just reading through the RENT OBC booklet and it lists Kristin Lee Kelly as Marks Mom and Allison...Allison is not in the show except for possibly a second in the film at the end...any idea why she is included?

Credit for Alison's "hand?" I really have no idea.

But I am very excited to see if we do get to see Alison in the film.

to answer both of you, yes its just her hand that appears as allison (all subsequent mark's moms have also been listed with that credit on ibdb) and allison will be in the movie according to imdb

I would assume so. I mean, if you been watching the same actors for two hours and then they show completely different people, I think it would be weird.

Also- I KNOW Jen Siebel's playing Alison. But (and this could be me) I haven't heard of any scenes with Alison in it. It could all be a ruse and we'll still get a hand.

Usually, but sometimes there are a few mishaps. Like, last time I saw the show, there was still a clip or two of Jeremy and Sebastian, even though neither was still in the cast. All of the current leads were in, though.

Yeah I'm interested to see what part Alison has in the RENT movie. Although I'm not sure what part she would have other then maybe voice overs (on the phone with Benny) and maybe in some of Mark's film footage....oh well, we shall see. Having never seen the show live, I was also a bit confused about Alison getting credits on the castlist when she never sang or appeared to my knowledge.

I can't see them adding too much of Allison into the movie. Maybe they'll just show her yelling at Benny at the end or something.

I have a feeling that the most we will see of Alison is one the phone with Benny. I can't think of a place in the movie where she could show up without it being out of place. But again, we'll just have to wait til the movie comes out to see for sure.

Bear in mind that they haven't shot anything with benny in it yet either, and since she's his wife that could explain it.

Didn't Alison have a full onstage character part in the NYTP version? It could be possible that they might take songs from there if they need more development
