He did a wonderful job today. If it was his first performance, you wouldn’t have known it. At the end of the bows, the cast turned to him and applauded/jumped up and down in support, etc, which had the audience applaud and cheer in a fresh wave. Jesse then pulled him in for a strong hug.
He was also well-supported by the four other understudies who sat in the orchestra and watched the show.
He really saved the day and made it look totally seamless."
If Jesse was the actor out, why would he be at the performance?

I'm looking to see the show on 1/3-1/5. Theatre looks pretty empty for all performances as far as getting a decent ticket am I better off with digital lottery, TDF or rush?

I think you should have no trouble getting a good seat with any of them, though I'd probably recommend TDF or rush because I believe they're cheaper than the lottery. This may not be the best example because Williams was out and the weather was bad, but when I decided to go at the last minute on Friday, I got to the box office 20 minutes before showtime and was given front row. The people sitting beside me had TDF tickets. Someone on the last page mentioned their TDF seats were also front row. So yeah, you should be fine with any option.

That was my question. Who is listening to the "message" when some dude is standing butt naked in front of you.
Or then again, maybe it's the notoriety of those scenes that take precedence over the message that put this play on the map.
Would this show have done as well without it? As someone noted, sales went up after the photo/video was leaked.
I guess it's still the USofA though. 
Nudity still draws out one of three responses: a) prudishness b) immaturity or c) whatever, it's a body. Those who are comfortable with it will go straight to letter c. Like JW himself said, it's a body for crying out loud. As if we haven't seen men with great looking bodies. Even "blessed" men with great looking bodies. I would think we would be passed that in 2022.

So, what are the thoughts as to why this is doing so poorly the second time around?
Is this another Beetlejuice with high hopes that didn't meet expectations? Or was this a Waitress who came back for a pro-shot?

It's a shame COME FROM AWAY closed so this show could return. CFA was still breaking even at least and should have kept running through the end of the year.

Financially, you have a point. And there’s no denying the box office is less then great. And I’m sure the investors are less than thrilled. But I’d encourage you to think about it another way. I’m currently watching the season finale of We’re Here which takes place in Florida. In a world filled with anti-trans propaganda hate and laws & “Don’t Say Gay” bills & people in other countries being murdered by the government for their sexual and gender identities & Pulse and Club Q nightclub shootings, I’m beyond grateful that shows like Take Me Out & A Strange Loop (both of which I’m finally seeing next week) even if their current box office is bad. Yes, they may be preaching to the choir most often (although I get the feeling that ASL is eye-opening to even many liberal audiences including non-POC LGBTQ+ folks) and performing to partially empty theaters. But you never know when shows like these existing may be the lifeline a struggling young or no-so-young member of the LGBTQ+ community needs right now. In that way, they may have a much longer lasting impact than many commercially-successful productions.

Just an FYI. The Hayes theatre is just shy of 600 seats at 597. Even at that they did have a hard time selling out which did not equate to a move to a larger theatre.

We're seeing a 7pm show, and I was wondering if we could make a 10pm reservation (15 min walk).

Depending on where you're sitting, you can unlock your Yondr in the basement after the show, I was mine unlocked when I went to the restroom, so I could just walk out.

Saw this production for the 3rd time yesterday. Once again I bought my ticket through TDF but thankfully wasn't seated in the dreaded 1st row. This time I was in Row G , on the aisle
.The show remains one of the finest experiences I've ever had on Bwy and Michael Oberholzer makes Shane a sympathetic character who is difficult to hate.
Yes, the water remains clean and sparkling.

Looking to buy a ticket to see this and hoping to see the original cast. Coincidentally this is a rare time a Wednesday matinee could work for my schedule (Jan 18th), but wondering if it is considerably more likely I'll end up with understudies if I do a 2pm matinee on a Wednesday... Any experiences or general consensus?

I was there last night and the full cast was in. Loved the show. no bottleneck with the Yondr pouches that I experienced; they kept it moving, but I don't think the theater was full. I was out by 9:30 p.m. I was VERY glad I was not in the front row (where I usually love to sit) so I could actually concentrate on the show!
