This is great news, but I have to admit I'm skeptical. Obviously the Hayes is tiny, and I think a lot of its success toward the end of its run there came on the coattails of Tony nominations and ~the leak~. It'll be interesting to see how this sells.
Hope they do the Yondr Pouches again so we don't have a repeat of what happened this past spring.

Also it never had a sell out week at the Hayes so hopefully business will improve. I know I will be seeing it again. :)

I think that cat (actually more of a lion) is already out of the bag!

This was my first thought, as well. While I'm not completely dismissing the possibility of this happening, I certainly wouldn't go by just this Twitter account, alone."
Correct. If people want it, awesome but an unverified account not associated with anything is just weird to me. I don't know why they would do this again right after it closed, but stranger things have happened."
Nice try at backing off from your first post but it's a big fat fail. lol
Oh, and when you are followed by the producer and his husband: that ain't "not associated with anything." Better luck with the BS'ing next time.
Sutton loves a big swing and a miss.
I'd be curious of the financials for this too. Maybe it's cheap to produce as the set/costumes are already credit back to Second Stage? Not sure how all that works.
Curious to see how this sells (especially in a theatre twice as big as the original), but definitely hoping for the best for them! Also loving this new logo! Maybe they'll have some cool merch with it!

Can't imagine it will fill the Schoenfeld. This must be a vanity transfer.
FWIW, everyone's favorite TikToker reported this last Friday, from info he received on his tip line. In addition to whatever personal connections he has, it certainly looks like people in the know are anonymously sending him credible information now, as well.

Vanity? For who? Its already won the Pulitzer, along with the Tony Award for Best Play (the original), Best Revival and awards/nominations for multiple actors. Whose "vanity" are they stroking??
A three month return engagement of the last Tony Award winning revival seems like a safe bet in these rocky times.

It didn't fill the Hayes...which is less than half the size of the Schoenfeld. Tony Award or not, it certainly isn't demand that is bringing it back. The Amex pre-sale begins this week (Friday, I think). Unless they cancel...again.
Pretty much any play is a crapshoot these days, so in the words of Big Jule... "let's shoot crap."
The new ad campaign and more money to spend on advertising might also help its Broadway sales; it was ineptly advertised at 2nd Stage (like all their productions). We know there was demand for full-priced tickets by the end of the run, and that's more important than filling every seat.
Who's the commercial producer?

Hopefully Oberhauser will rejoin the cast. His performance made the production so remarkable even if I can't spell his name.

Considering the show that is being discussed this line is particularly amusing.
This was a very well received production. I'm pretty sure they will repeat the use of the Yonder pouches even though we all know that didn't prevent from happening what eventually did happen - which the producers shamelessly took advantage of and in the end did wonders for the show's box office.

Studio 54 only houses Roundabout produced shows. TAKE ME OUT was produced by Second Stage."
That's..... not true. Only 3 of the last 9 shows at Studio 54 were Roundabout productions, the rest being commercial production rentals (which Take Me Out now is).

Jesse Williams photos leaking were the best thing to happen to this. THATS why it’s coming back.
I for one can’t wait to see it. And the play too.

I don't get it. IThe show didn't sell out at a much smaller theater - even after the naked pix were leaked.
Someone, help explain why?
The production was supposed to open April 2020, and was postponed - is it possible they got pandemic money the way Waitress and other shows did?

The pandemic relief from the government had to spent by 12/31/2021. So that shouldn't be a factor.

It probably made money....so that's probably the reason they're bringing it back?

It absolutely did not win the Pulitzer. It was a finalist. Not a winner.
Everyone saying "Oh well it didn't sell that well" is acting like Spring 2022 was still normal times on Broadway and NYC. It's a smart move to capitalize on the Tony wins, the rise in tourism and the relaxed precautions. Not to mention it's the Weisslers producing this transfer, so you know they're gonna ace the marketing.
