I'd also like to see a soundtrack for this show. Ali has a terrific voice for this material, and I left the show with "Sensation" playing in my head all day. Even my 20 something DD, who was not a fan of the show, really enjoyed the music more than the original soundtrack or album...
I wasn’t expecting very much from Tommy, but I had a nice time even though this wasn’t necessarily a great show.
What a treat seeing both Adam and Arielle Jacobs lead Broadway musicals this season. It was my first time seeing Adam in a show and he was very good.
The always-dependable Alison Luff gives some much-needed pathos to the traumatized mother.
While Bobby Conte and Christina Sajous were weaker spots in the supporting cast, I quite liked Ali Louis Bourzgui in the title role and can’t wait to see where his career leads. He has this brooding, Bowie-type look in his eyes (at least when he doesn’t have his senses) and you don’t want to mess with his Tommy. His younger selves were super adorable.
Nathan Lucrezio!!!!!!
Score is the best part of the show. I need that cast album yesterday.
Frenetic choreography, and a few memorable set / lighting moments. The first futuristic minute of the show with Tommy and his cult followers putting on the helmets in front of him before the overture was a cool touch.
It was only super loud at a few moments IMO — the 5-6 gunshots early on, “Pinball Wizard,” and the final few choruses of “Listening to You” at the end of the show. Tonight’s crowd was on its feet for the final moments.
Started right at 7 today, curtain call began around 9:04. A bit shorter than advertised.
Caught this tonight, and I just fell in love with it. I felt like I was holding my breath waiting for each moment. I'm not usually a fan of projections, but thought these were stunning.
Can't believe how few noms it got.
I'd love a recording, PLEASE!
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Yes, yes, yes! I was a bit too young to have seen the original production but I have the making of book and the OBC cast album has always been in rotation as cassette tapes, CDs, and then Spotify playlists. I even attended the 15th anniversary concert but managed to never see a proper production on stage until this past Tuesday night. Yeah, I have some criticisms (some of which have already been articulated by posters in this thread) but I had an absolute blast and can't wait to catch this again up close.
I recall commenting on a promo video on here featuring Ali singing a bit of "Pinball Wizard" and saying I wasn't particularly impressed. Seriously, what the hell was wrong with me? He is a major find.
I really don't think they're going to record a cast album. I can't imagine what reason they'd have to wait this long if they still plan to record. It's a shame.
You're probably correct, what a shame as they sounded exquisite.
This, along with Illinoise and Merrily are my favorites of the season.

With so many other recordings of the property available, perhaps the powers that be just don't feel adding another recording is worth it. It's unfortunate, because I would happily buy it, but I guess it's understandable.
Praying for an album. Ali is a star and excited to see what his future holds. For now, I will continue to see Tommy every chance I get. I love this production so much. I have been particularly amazed lately at how cool the choreography, people, and the light bars move around each other. it's never a static set!
I’d even be more than happy for a live recording, to distinguish it more from the OBCR. I’d bet that the original recording was very expensive to produce, since it was overseen by The Beatles’ George Martin.
Reddit peeps are saying there have been pix of them in the recording studio?! Trying not to get my hopes up.
