when the cast of tarzan peformed at the Apple store in the village there was a question and answer session.
when chester greogory was asked what role did he wish he would have played on broadway and he said "THE WIZ" from the Wiz. But I do not think he will leave a highly successful show to play this role in Cali. ...maybe he would if it came to broadway?
what do you think

I was told by Nikki M. James at the LITTLE FISH concert that she is slated to play Dorothy.
I love Valerie Pettiford but i am never enthused about her jazzy vocals on material. but this i am interested in. I think she's beautiful.
When I mentioned this production to Saycon Sengbloh last week when we were out for coffee, she said she has heard from several people within the industry that Nikki has gotten Dorothy as well.
i am SOOOO happy about tituss being cast as the LION- he's perfect for it, and has big things in his future
i hope you guys are right about nikki james... she'd be perfect too!

Nikki is fabulous!
As for Valarie, get ready to be blown away by her ....and I KNOW that Sergio will give her some fierce dancing to do!!!!
Nikki is wonderful and so is Tituss. They are great choices
on shoshanas official fan site it says that she is NOT joining the wiz, she wasnt going to leave the wicked tour ne way...... wut is it with people bashing people who were elphaba, or r elphaba, and still telling people how much they love the show??

Mary Testa sounds about as black as Ethel Merman.

A) Pants, please learn how to speak English. It is the language of Milton, Shakespeare, and the Bible. THEN, maybe I'll be able to comprehend your posts.
B) I wouldn't mind Mary Testa in a "normal" production of the Wiz, but if the speculation about the hip-hop urban updates are true, then I'm not sure if her larger than life belt would fit in it. I like to call her the second coming of Merman, and Merman wasn't exactly a hip-hop riffer.
C) Nikki M. James sounds great on Bernarda Alba. I've heard that she's a bit of a schmatress though. But I won't judge till I see!
D) Who exactly would Valerie and David Alan play? Glinda and The Wiz?
