Why have you changed your stance on this production the last few days? I thought it was gonna be the greatest thing ever seen on live TV? Also, her name isn't Queen, it's Queen Latifah.

I never said it was gonna be the greatest thing on live tv. I am still looking foward to this. I hope the music does not sound like this when they sing it live. And i obviously know her name is queen latifah. I call her queen for short sometimes

He's trying to appear less like a shill by occasionally being agreeable.

Okay there's a lot going on in that Promo.
I HATE the set and setup for "Brand New Day," I hope it isn't that way on the Broadcast.
The Witch costumes really do look great, but Latifah as mentioned is baffling in look and delivery.
ETA: And the platform The Wiz stands on with the clock gear in the background is very "Thank Goodness" from WICKED.

Queen latifah is a great actress and she acts way better than what was shown here. Uzo looks beautiful and so does amber. I do not like what the ensemble are wearing in the brand new day scene. They look like candy

This sentence doesn't make any sense. And she looks like a David Bowie mess.
"Uzo looks beautiful and so does amber."
I agree that Uzo Aduba is always stunning, but Amber Riley is looking a little strange.

I don't like the overall visual style of the new promo. It looks like modern Wizard of Oz, Wicked, Dr. Seuss' Whoville mixed with Candyland. The Wiz stylistically is an Afrocentric adaptation of the Wizard of Oz. Seems like the soul and style has been removed and mainstreamed. I will still watch it and am still excited.

I don't hate the trailer at all. I am actually moderately impressed. It certainly looks better than the crap they served up last year.
I am also glad that they are downplaying the femininity of Queen Latifah as The Wizard. Baum chose to make The Wizard a male for a reason, and making him a female changes the dynamic of politics in Oz.

Are you really going to post stills from every character seen in the preview? We can all watch it and see it on our own. I assure you that it is not necessary to do this.

^ wha wha get over it. teddy's posts make me eyeroll just as much as the next person, but the people continually complaining about is equally as annoying.
The trailer exceeded my expectation. I'm still weary, and I'm not quite sure if I like Shanice, but so far it looks far superior to SOM and especially PP.

I am not. I don't see what is wrong with posting screenshots. I am just showing my love for this. I am very excited for this production. I am obviously not going to screenshot the whole trailer. I am sick and tired of people always dogging on me for my posts. Ever since i joined this website, i thought i would be welcomed. But i have been treated with blatant disrespect since day one. I am sick of it. But i am here to stay and i will not let anyone's words hurt me. If you do not like what i am posting, simply ignore it, not call me out. I will not tolerate this behavior any longer

Funnily enough. Not ALL of us on this board are from the US and can view the promo. So I hope he DOES post stills from every character. We CAN'T all watch it and see it on our own. I assure YOU that it IS necessary to do this.

I could watch the promo but I still appreciate having a still image to study as I had with the four principles.

Adaperle's costume is my favorite so far. It evokes a bit of the original Broadway design without being a copy. Still think Glinda looks like Glitter Barbie. And I don't get the Winkie slaves being dressed as dancing candy-corn, but okay.
I still think the whole thing has a sanitized (although expensive) look about it. I wonder how all of that CGI is going to translate onto a Broadway stage.
I also still wish the concept had more of an identity, particularly an African-American identity, since that's how and why this show was conceived: as an all-black version of "The Wizard of Oz" The designs don't reflect the concept very well. They aren't unique enough and lack a "voice."
As for the choreography and set, it felt like I was watching a bit of Steppin' to the Bad Side from the movie Dreamgirls. Same choreography style, similar stage setup and steps. I wish it had looked more celebratory, with the cast members relating to each other in the moment, and less robotic and presentational. Nice energy though. Doesn't fit the lyrics at all.
