100% agree about the Lunt's box office staff. The worst on Broadway.

The only exception was the kind gentleman (tall) at the BO who told me about Warren's injuries & uncertainty when she would return. He suggested I come back. His coworker was a problem. But that theater has a rep for theater staff having an attitude. Some attributed it to theater management.
I guess I wasn't far wrong. I just read the NY Times review from Nov. The critic said it was more of a concert than a musical, criticizing the book but gave glowing reviews on Warren's performance.
I know just how "tomwsjr" feels about the understudy situation in his Jan 10 post. I got stuck w/understudies in all the leads: Tina, Ike, child in November. I was ticked. I left at intermission & only considered another show because my friend who works that theater said Warren was far better. But after the reviews & a woman w/an infant at the box office planning to attend, I'm done. I'll go back to Hadestown.

Kayla and Nkeki are both fantastic powerhouses, so I’m not really sure where you’re getting the “subpar Tina” from.

I agree. I just saw the matinee and Nkeki was very good. The overall show, however, was not that great in my opinion. The post bow numbers are very fun/most entertaining as everyone has said, but this did seem more like a concert with songs forced into a lacking script. Nkeki as a headliner, and Adrienne apparently, too, sing their faces off, though, and so don’t let the “understudy situation” prevent you from going.

I don’t mind understudies but theatre fans want to see the star who will be nominated for Tonys it’s nothing personal against understudies. We just want to have informed opinions come award season

I also saw Nkeki this past Thursday and she was just fabulous. We also had an understudy on for Ike and apparently it was his first time going on as Ike per Instagram so I thought he was very good but a bit reserved in the abuse scenes. My show also had 4 swings in and I would have never noticed had I not looked at the Board first. Overall, a very enjoyable show for me. I still plan to go back and see Adrienne as I want to catch as many potential Tony nominees as possible. I'm just going to try the lotto for a while. If not, I'll do Audience Rewards again.

Reportedly Ms. Warren sang a number from TINA on a talk show last night. Does that mean she's recovered and back in the show?

She’s been in the show since Friday. She doesn’t do matinees (I don’t think she ever has), but that’s her normal schedule.

Hey everyone! I saw Tina on January 8th when Adrienne was out for a few performances (bought tickets in advance so there was really nothing I could do since the box office is EXTREMELY unaccommodating). When we got to the theatre, I was surprised to see Nkeki was also out. Ended up seeing Kayla Davion who was absolutely incredible as Tina! Seriously that girl is SO talented!
However, as you all know, everyone raves about Adrienne's performance. I wasn't that big of a fan of the show as a whole, as I thought the book could have definitely been better. But I was wondering if you all think it is worth it to go back to see Adrienne?? I keep going back and forth if I want to see it again and just can't decide.

Posted: 1/19/20 at 1:22pmThey've reduced their prices during weeknights in the winter and you can get rear mezz for $59 now. Just be cautious in February as Warren has some scheduled out dates and it looks like she's on vacation the last week of February.

In order to ensure (the best way possible) to see Adrienne, you really have to keep an eye on the FAQ on their website under “Performance Schedule” since they update it frequently with the Tina merry-go-round situation. Of course it’s not always a guarantee, but still a good reference.

I saw it today this afternoon and it appears that Adrienne and Nkeki are now splitting the shows in half, with Nkeki doing Weds & Sun matinees and Friday and Saturday evenings.
Also, though I have no comparison point, Nkeki is STELLAR and nobody should think they are getting anything less than what Adrienne offers

Wait, so Warren is only doing 4 shows a week now? Honestly if she holds this type of schedule, I doubt she even lands a Tony nomination.

Wait what even? That isn't indicated on the website so how do you know?

That’s what’s written in the Playbill. Here’s a link to the inside of the Playbill.

Posted: 1/22/20 at 7:14pmI think that’s just for this week only. She’s scheduled to be out over the weekend so the playbill is published with that change. Like what Phantom seems to do every week.

There's no way she gets a Tony nomination only doing 4 shows a week. Nkeki, though billed as the alternate, would then be equally deserving of a nomination then.

Adrienne is doing 6 shows a week as it has always been. She is scheduled out on the Wednesday and Saturday matinee as it has been since the beginning of the Broadway mounting.
Her attendance has been quite good since the show started. Keep in mind, she hurt her ankle back in the middle of December and then came back after missing a total of 2 shows. She then presumably missed a few shows due to her ankle her again earlier this month (week of 1/6 - she posted something about a procedure/healing on her Instagram story). Aside from the issue with her ankle, I believe she has only had one additional unscheduled absence.
If you want to ensure great chances to see Adrienne you need to refer to the FAQ section of Tina's website, which has been updated very frequently with dates for the two Tina covers. As of today, Adrienne is currently scheduled to be out 1/24-1/26, 2/11-2/13 and 2/25-3/1.
Tina has been printing playbills with special billing (such as this week) when Adrienne's scheduled to be out, which is what that photo above is.

Whoever performs on opening night is eligible for the tonys, And to the person who asked if its worth going back for warren, I don’t think so if you didn’t enjoy the show.

Yes, per their website, Warren is out this weekend. Just odd they did the Playbill that way. Kayla Davion is performing the role on the Saturday matinee.
