(as an aside, I'm really impressed at people's answers when I post questions...they're really helpful and I'm appreciative!)

Does TKTS offer much more of a discount than Broadwaybox? The TKTS site states their tickets are usually 30%-50% off full price...

I'm interested in seeing Table Manners and Broadwaybox has a 40% off code. I'm tempted to just buy them online, rather than show up at TKTS and be dissapointed...

I am not sure if it goes for all the shows but at least for Rock of Ages I got a much deeper discount at the TKTS booth than I could get at Broadwaybox. I paid $42 at the TKTS while the cheapest ticket on Broadwaybox available at the time was $60+. But if they are already offering 40% off, I don't think TKTS will offer anything cheaper than that.

Have any of the Norman Conquests shows been at TKTS? I hadn't seen that. I saw the trilogy last Sunday by using the July 4th $59 sale for each ticket. They extended the sale, if you are interested. And I hope you are planning to see/have seen Living Together and Round and Round the Garden, bc the trilogy was one of the best things I've ever seen. LOVED it. Wish I could see it again and again.

Norman is pretty much always at TKTS. The only times that they haven't is on Saturdays since the marathon is popular.

With Broadwaybox, you will get a better seat, and you won't wait in line. However, at TKTS the discount may be better. For example, you say that NORMAN has a discount for 40%, whereas they are 50% at TKTS, but you just get the best of what's left. If you book on-line there are steep surcharges per ticket that are higher than TKTS's fees.

Surcharges aside, I have felt that the price that you get for a ticket on broadwaybox is about the same to what you would get at TKTS. Maybe a little more or a little less in either direction but roughly the same.

I do like the fact that I am able to book ahead and not have to stand in line. Also, there have been cases where there are shows offering discount codes that aren't at TKTS.

TKTS maybe a little cheaper at times (although not always), however BroadwayBox.com's discounts are a sure deal, and will be a much safer choice.
For example I just saw a discount in BroadwayBox.com for the triology of The Norman Conquests with over 40%... TKTS will not be much better if better at all, and this will be a much safer purchase!

A safer choice? I'm guessing you mean a more reliable choice -- KNOWING that you have tix to the show you want in advance.

To me, paying a little extra is TOTALLY worth two things:
Seeing the show you want.
Saving my time -- so many other things I could be doing rather that standing in line.

Plus using Broadwaybox you can try at different times/dates and end up with different seat selections....

Broadwaybox codes are usually good for any seat in the house (except maybe the very cheapest), while TKTS is 50% off the highest-price ticket. 40% off a $60 ticket is a lot cheaper than 50% of a $110 ticket. Your seat won't be as good, but if you're looking to save money, I'd go with Broadwaybox.

The prices are usually lower at TKTS, but you hvae less choice of shows -- only what's not sold out that day. On Broadway Box, you'll pay a bit more, but you'll get a much wider selection of shows.

If you want to see "a show" use TKTS. If you want to see a specific show, Broadway Box may be a better bet.

If you're not from out of town, broadwaybox or theatermania can often be the best deal because you can print out their offers and present them at the box office.

This gives you the opportunity to buy tickets in advance, pick your preferred seats, and avoid all the additional ticketing surcharges you get when buying online or by phone.

Also don't forget that TKTS adds an additional $4 ticket surcharge.
