Ok, I give it until December. It at least deserves a run the same length as "In My Life" (Which I loved). Any one else?

Wow.. this is quite mean spirited if you ask me.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I think it'll run at least a year.

It's a revival of a show that ran for over 15 years. It'll stick around for quite a while.

I wouldn't be so sure. The revival of "La Cage" didn't and the orginal ran 8 (I want to say), neither did the revivals of "The Wiz" or the late 80's "Grease." It's just bad timing on the revival's part. I'll see it, I missed the original (I was too young) But with tickets being what they are, no student discount or SRO seats available, I'll be suprised. I've heard from a good source that all this venture is for is to make money, and as the "Into the Woods" revival proved, you need more than that. And yes, that is why Lapine did the revival, and fought for it, he needed money. Call me mean-spritied, but it's the truth.

Difference between amount of time original La Cage ran & original ACL - Big difference. Rightfully or not, ACL is a piece of Broadway history. La Cage is just another very good musical

"I've heard from a good source that all this venture is for is to make money"

Um . . . . aren't ALL revivals trying to make money?

If you are going to speculate on the closing of a show, at least spell it correctly.

Aren't all broadway shows untimately for this reason? Unless, of course, you are Max Bialystock

They may be, but the sucessful ones seem to be more about the show, and less about wanting the money. The "Chicago" revival, for example, which I do admit, if they are having to resort to Usher, it may be time to close...but that's just me.

To me it's just frivolous and foolish to start this type of conversation right now. I mean, really. Who cares? Why don't you just cut to the chase, stop being passive and post a thread saying " I want ACL to fail." That would save us all alot of time and energy instead of you arguing with everyone why it should close early.

Chicago has been selling well (now better) with Usher. There's still plenty of life left in Chicago. And I would hardly call "resorting" to Usher a sign of dispair.

People thought it should have closed years ago.

Amazing how much longer the revival has run compared to the original show

Actually, I wanna see this because it's got CURLY FAWKIN SUE!!!!!

I've said it once and I will say it again... As someone who has performed in A CHORUS LINE several times across this country I have a bad feeling about this revival. I think some of the casting choices are poor and the timing doesn't feel right to me. Still too soon in my book and I just don't think the revival will do well unfortunately. However, I hope that I am wrong.

Bettyboy- I am not promoting it to fail, I just don't see it making it. Personally, if it were to run another 1000 years I would pleased as punch (it's my favorite musical) However, I don't think the timing is right.
Yes, the show is part of musical history, but so is Oklahoma, and it's revivals bottom out in under 5 years. So it being part of history means nothing.

Ozark

By your definition, most shows would be PLEASED AS PUNCH to have a 5 year run.
