They pulled that off nicely, I can't complain. The song choice was probably the best for contextual reasons, but Octet probably would have been nice too

I thought the hat effect actually could have been better-executed...Matt Morrison was sure in good voice at the beginning of the night and he's just so..yummy. Ahh.
Again, though, I didn't really dig Piazza. Something about it strikes me as...trite? False? I dunno.
The only thing I'm really hoping for though is that Hank Azaria doesn't get the award. I adore him, but... yeah, his leave of absence, the way it was handled...irks me.
Can't wait to see Sweet Charity, though! I'm so undecided about whether I like the look of it. We...shall see!
Poor Christina...hope she's not hurt for her performance...I didn't see her fall!

Wow! I must get tickets to go see "The Light in the Piazza" for me and my mother. The original 1962 film is one of my mother's favorite films and I grew up with it. That short number from the show was impressive! Victoria Clark and Kelli O'Hara both have beautiful voices. I can't wait to take my mother to see this.
I also thought the song choice was very good. It works well outside the context of the show, it tells people out there what the show is about, it seemed happy and bright, the melodies are gorgeous and Clark and O'Hara sounded terrific. I wasn't crazy about some of the camera work and editing, but it sounded beautiful.
