bumo getting close !!
Congrats Jessie Mueller, Andy Karl, and all the other Drama Desk nominees this year! :)
Yikes, it seems like Kinky Boots is getting the shaft. Also, no Fiona Shaw for solo performance.
I was surprised to see Annaleigh snag a featured nom though, I didn't see her making into that category, but good for her!
Hurray for Danny Troob and William Ivey Long for CINDERELLA!
Well considering how huge the categories are Kelly, they could have fit 30 more girls in there lol.
That's true, I was surprised not to see Lesli Margherita or Lauren Ward though and for Annaleigh to make the cut. Also THRILLED to see Donna Murphy recognized!
Here's the full list of nominees:
Drama Desk Nominees
Rob McClure and Patina Miller got snubbed
Very surprised at no Patina Miller/Matilda girls' nomination.
SO happy to see Donna Murphy recognized! And for HANDS ON A HARDBODY!
KINKY BOOTS really got the shaft. I thought at least Lauper was a lock.
Also I just realized, where is Patina?!
This is a more bizarre lineup than the OCC nominees this year.

yeah the supporting actress categories were interesting...Condola Rashad for Bountiful ? Jessie Mueller....Annaleigh is a lock for the Tony nom so I don't know why anyone would be surprised......
they snubbed Patina Miller tho ?!? and Lilla Crawford I think
No Patina, no Matildas, no Lilla Crawford.
EDIT: No Annie for Best Revival either.
I saw Pippin yesterday, can't believe Patina didn't get a nom.
And no love for the Vanya...Spike cast in ANY categories. These awards seem off-Broadway heavy this year (which is obviously great!), but there were so many deserving performers this year who didn't get nominated. Also no Alan Cumming, no Matilda for music (just lyrics), no Cyndi Lauper or Kinky Boots for basically anything, and no major Annie nominations.
Sometimes you have to realize some Off-Broadway shows are artistically and intellectually more stimulating than Broadway shows.
I think the Drama Desks Award's placement of Bertie Carvel just gave Billy Porter the Tony.
I also think Patina's lack of a nomination just leveled the playing field between her and Laura Osnes.

Sometimes? Try usually.
Well I'm happy to see that 6 of the 13 people nominated for Best Director are women.
But, no Judy Kuhn!
I am very happy for Hardbody's 9 nomintations and Miller's snub really increased Osnes's chances. Also very happy for Josh Rhodes for his work in Cinderella and Chet Walker and Gypsy Snider sharing the choreographer nomination for Pippin. It is a bizzare list of nominees but that is to be expected. Congrats to all of the nominees and wish them the best.
