I just saw the announcement of the next season at the Gallery Players, and it pretty much seems to be a season devoted entirely to things I love (which I'm sure was their explicit intention). I'm tempted to bite the bullet and just subscribe to the whole thing since I've heard good things about a few of their productions, but before I commit to six evenings of shuttling off to Brooklyn, does anyone here have any opinions about their work overall? Generally good? Generally great? Hit or miss? Any feedback appreciated!

I will admit that I find it hard to imagine The Little Dog Laughed without Julie White...

a very good theatre company in Brooklyn producing under the Showcase Code.....Small house but they put a lot of effort into their productions and the quality of actor is ususally very high.

I've seen several of their productions over the years and they've been generally wonderful.

I think part of their mission statement is to give first revivals to things that were recently done on Broadway or Off-Broadway.

For a few years they also used to do a new musical in the fall. (Yank was there ages ago.) Looks like they aren't doing that any more, which is a shame.

I've worked there several times as a music director/keyboardist, so maybe I'm a little biased, but I can say in all honesty that it's always a pleasure, and I'm always proud of the work they put on the stage. They get high-quality actors (the last show I did there had more than one actor with Broadway credits), and they're very professional in terms of the way they run things.

I hope to be working there again this coming season; hope to see you there!

I've done three shows there. They often do very high quality work.

Reefer Madness seemed miscast when I saw it..also lacking energy.

Like most community theaters in NYC, the shows run the gamut between very well cast and well directed productions and absolute bombs.

Yeah, I've seen some hit and miss productions, but I really admire the types of shows they put on. I mean, they did Caroline, or Change last year!

And luckily, they recently got some fans/AC down there, so at least in the summer it's not sooooo hot.
