Oh MY GOD. I have never enjoyed this cast so much and I'm so glad I rushed. I wouldn't have normally rushed for something so insane (being in line for 8 hours messes with your mind), but it made sense especially since I didn't rush the first two "closings."
The laughter for Mika's entrance was INSANE. Rick was close to losing it. I wonder if the newbies even could hear Jonathan Hadley.
Speaking of newbies, the crowd was a nice mix of die-hards and first-timers. I love the gasp at "Joe Pesci. Yeah, that Joe Pesci." The crowd overall was VERY good. Big laughs, lots of applause, and didn't sing along or talk!
Re: Vegas editing, the dialogue seemed faster -- but not rushed. I noticed a lot of the argument scenes seemed to have people talking over people, but not to the point where you didn't understand what they were saying. Shaves off a few seconds without a major loss, I guess.
It's only been a few hours, but I miss the Jersey Boys experience. I really do. But it's better for the wallet that it's not the next Phantom.

Yeah great last audience. They ate everything up. Glancing around I noticed alot of people crying during "Fallen Angel" and couples start holding each other's hand and glancing at each other as they mouthed the words to "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You". Man that was a mushy statement. Even though they weren't here long, I'll miss seeing this cast on stage. But for sure I'm going to miss having the show in the San Francisco.
By the way Taylor blogged. Not much going on but he shows off some art work. Quickie: Santa Klau Updated On: 12/31/07 at 04:07 AM
I love them. Man, this last cast was incredibly sweet, talented, and all around great people. I might just need to catch them in Vegas sometime down the line.
(and Andrew and Jonathan with the tour-- cause they're huge love hugs).
I'm sure alot of people are thinking about making a quick trip to Vegas in the future to see the Vegas cast. I know I would. I want to see how Erich, Jeremy, and John Altieri, work with their new cast. Actually if I could I'd go try to hit up all the other companies to see if the dynamics changed with this little shuffle.

Well, everything is changing so much.. the tour we know is now a whole new group-- with the exception of what.. 6 people? It will be nice to see fresh new faces though.
Yeah, it's kind of funny to look at what's changed in a year:
Deven May (gone soon?) Erich Bergen (going to Vegas) Michael Ingersoll (Chicago) Christopher Kale Jones John Altieri (Vegas) Joseph Siravo Miles Aubrey Erik Bates Sandra DeNise (gone) Jennifer Evans Rick Faugno (Vegas) Eric Gutman (Broadway) Nathan Klau Brandon Matthieus Jackie Seiden (gone) Jarrod Spector (Chicago) Taylor Sternberg Melissa Strom (on extended leave)

Looking at the list Lizzie put up, the tour cast has changed alot from the original members over the year. I don't even think the Broadway cast has gone through that many changes yet. And the Chicago cast has only had 3 changes, 4 once Jeremy leaves in March,
We should make a "super company."
Like Fantasy Football, but with Jersey Boys. Haha. Mmmm....
I have a feeling some of us have already been thinking about who they'd have in their "super company." And on another note, today is Erich last show with the tour, and his birthday. So Happy Birthday Erich, and enjoy the break you're getting, if you're getting one, before you start up again with the Vegas cast.

Just in case you're interested, saw Nathan as Crewe in Costa Mesa. He started out good, but his Crewe's gayness dissipated gradually as the show progressed. By the end, I had this uncomfortable feeling of watching a straight guy acting gay. He's a lot more convincing and funnier as the 'Come back when you're black" guy. Updated On: 1/2/08 at 06:09 PM
I saw the show in Seattle on the 29th. I'm a little confused about when Erich's actual last performance on tour was. I know that the JB blog said that he'd be done on the 31st, but the program handed out at the 5th Avenue Theatre said his final performance was the 30th.
If for understandable reasons he can’t perform it every night, she suggests the producers and presenters do what they do in opera companies, and have Gold Cast Nights, Silver Cast Nights, etc. And charge accordingly for tickets.
Errm, yeah, and if you can't perform it "every night," you're like all the other Frankies out there anyway...

Hey, how come on the Jersey Boys official tour site under Nate Klau's name it now says "Ralph Knuckles and others"? I guess Knuckles has a real first name now, although why they knocked out Billy Dixon's name when he has more to do is a little weird.

But I really do hope it goes well for them. It just seems to me that people over there aren't really paying close attention to the playbill. At least, in Eric's case.
So I hope they don't flip out and have a fit when those two go on tomorrow.
