I was really skeptical about this show. It just looked a little strange to me (no pun intended) and I really wasn't attracted to it at all. HOWEVER, all of your positive reviews have totally and completely changed my mind, and I decided to forego November and A Catered Affair (which didn't have available tickets anyway) for this show. I'll let you all know, I'm seeing it April 5!
Re: Theater Talk - STEW (and) Heidi sure do know how to carry themselves. Realy, really GREAT interview! I mean, I knew everything they made mention of already, but y'know, it was a treat just to ... hear it from the horse's mouth.
Also, as an aside, that fella who was on to talk about THE 39 STEPS has gotten me all the more excited for the show - when I FINALLY get to see it at the Cort - on June 19!
Scary, we DO hope you'll love it like we do, however nothing is 100% sure thing... Just let it sweep over you, and let loose when you feel like it! Underneath the hard rockin' "frame" lies a sweet story of mother and son, the real and the facades. And it's just damn funny and sarcastic.
I did standing room at PS last night. What a crowd last night.
I stood out by the stage door after the show, which I don't do very often. There were only a couple of us out there. The cast + crew were really really great. All of them were willing to talk to the fans, with the exception of Eisa Davis, who looked like she had somewhere to be. Heidi was awesome to talk to. It took a while for Stew to come out. He apologized for taking so long because he wasn't used to having fans wait for him at the stage door. It was really great to meet him.
Something I noticed, the entire cast were all really stylish. I don't know if it was because it was a Saturday night, but they were all workin it.
Broadwaybox is netting me a first row seat. Is it gonna be too close? I've heard its really loud. Front row would be great, but I want to leave with my eardrums intact.
I sat front row. It was AWESOME. It's definetly an expierence to sit first row. I thought it was going to be louder than it was, from all the hype about it here, but I go to rock concerts frequently so I'm used to it being that loud. Front row balcony is probably the best place to see the show from, but front row orchestra is second best. You really get the intimacy which I love. I'd say GO FOR IT

I love this showw! saw it for the second time this weekend. I cannot wait until they record this! Also, if anyone knows, Stew has the song "Love Like that" the last song of the show on his cd "Something deeper than these changes". I bought it off amazon for 99. Good stuff!
Hey Curious, thanks for the PM. Glad you were there to enjoy, once again. Yes, the cast and crew are really the sweetest! They even collect for BC/EFA themselves! NIce. Once again, I reiterate the fact that many "seniors" attend the show, maybe not knowing too much about it, and end up loving it the most. The audience mix of young, old, tween, oldie hippie types, geeks, european, american, gay, straight, etc. makes the show ever more interesting to indulge in...
Tiny, Thanks for the updates! It sounds like the word is spreading. Anyword on a cast recording yet? Again, I will be back in May. I can't wait to revisit again. joe
If PS does a musical number on the Tony's what no. do you think it should be, purely for a marketing strategy:
The "We just had Sex" number (sex sells!) The "Arlington Hill" number? might not seem right, out of context "Welcome to Amsterdam" MY vote, if Stew is allowed to REALLY rock out! "Keys" ? "The Black One" Good choice ?, cause it's satiric, show bizzy, Kander & Ebb sounding.
A live CD would be amazing, I believe someone was talking about that earlier. The show really needs to be expierenced live because it's such an event: all the energy and the pumping music etc etc
ps: great to see Passing Strange's grosses are up! I'm rootin' for ya!

Caroline, I agree, Stew should be allowed to rock it (AMSTERDAM) INTO the first couple of rows of the TONY'S. It's a freaking great number, which hopefully could translate well on TV.
Saw the show Saturday night and really enjoyed it, so much energy the cast really seemed to be having a blast up there. I met a few at the stage door and they were all very gracious and kind. Definitely a show I would see again. As for a Tony song, I would say "Keys,""Amsterdam," or a Medley
I had the chance of seeing it last Saturday. I posted this in another thread, but I thought I'd copy it in here as well:
This is, by far, the best show I've seen in a long time. I found funny that I didn't see any of the "problems" some people talk about. It was accesible, hilarious, had a great story, it was easy to digest, and I thought it could have been a lot louder. In fact, it was pretty cute and sweet. Never cried so much after a show, I was really choking. Stew is a true star, and the performers have so much energy - the way they move from one character to the other is truly amazing. I hope it gets the reconginition it deserves, it is simply mind blowing.
Listen, I don't take my clothes off for anyone, even if it is "artistic". - JANICE
